2-parter - Campground and Lake Keomah itself. Camped in the tent on an electric site. They also have non electric. The campground was pretty level, lots of space on our site (#16 in the corner). Fire ring with grates & picnic table included on all sites. There's a modern restroom and shower, pretty clean. Overall very peaceful, despite some kind of farmland behind us, which was actually quite pretty at sunset. You could hear the cows(?) from a distance, but it is not a loud or bothersome noise. Other animals we heard from the campgrounds were pretty basic: birds, frogs and coyotes. The raccoons werent bothersome, hahah. Very shy & easily scared off, we had one instance and they turned tail and never returned. Peaceful stay overall & very happy with it. The lake is not large, but it's pretty and peaceful. Nice little village around the lake (people do live there). But a few miles of trails around the lake will keep you busy. They're wide & flat, and require no effort to walk. Trails dont have much wildlife to view aside from your local amphibians. Trails lead around the beach, I dont recommend a swim though. Inhabited by many geese, as well as a large population of snails. The snail shells are scattered all over the beach - very cool, large shells. Saw a restroom at the beach. Also saw a shelter for gatherings, a lodge, and picnic space around the lake. Quiet setting for any visit, would recommend Lake Keomah for sure.
Camping was fine. Prices were fine. Putting in a new lake and lodge so much of it is not available. Other than that, nice place to camp and would be higher stars.
The park is clean and trimmed nicely. The water is getting awfully messy, not sure that can be helped. The Ranger is personable. The shelter has good upkeep.
Nice small state park with a swimming beach. Had a picnic off the beach a bit. Lots of geese around the lake and one of the private home owners on the other side was shooting to scare them off.
The man made lake is all dried up. There needs to be a street light where you turn into the campground. Trying to find it in the dark isn't easy. The hiking trail isn't accurate on the park map.
