We stayed in one of the Pioneer Tents and had an incredible time! The tent is located inside the inner loop near the bathhouse, but feels so secluded and private. There was tons of wildlife to be seen, sometimes a bit too close for comfort. The tent itself was wonderful, with a very comfortable queen sized bed and super soft clean sheets, and it had an air conditioner! The only problem with the tent and campsite was that the tent flaps didn’t seal at the bottom, and when we arrived it was evident that raccoons had come in and opened all the coffee supplies (creamer included) and walked over the bed, leaving little footprints across the white bedspread. The raccoons are not afraid at all of humans and will come as close as you will allow them, and they need to be dealt with. Other than that, the stay was wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone!

We went to Lake Kissimmee State Park for some hiking. We didn’t have a ton of time so decided to do one of the trails that was about 3 miles. We stay in Lake Wales so the drive was easy, and convenient. The park was well marked, well maintained as were the trails. It’s about a 3 mile drive in to the park from the gate, to where the trailheads were and the marina. There’s camping and a camp store. Well maintained bathrooms. We loved it!

Absolutely awesome experience! You're greeted by a friendly ranger who checks you in and gives you the run down on park ammentities. The campsite was pretty private. The showers were hot. They have several trails different distances depending on how much you want to walk. I even got close to some of the local wildlife. Would recommend and will visit again. 💯

This is a wonderful park for camping! The sites are nicely wooded with a beautiful canopy of oak and pine trees. Many deer come near to visit, too. The observation tower has beautiful nighttime views and is great for star gazing. For boating enthusiasts, there is a marina, boat ramp and kayak/canoe launch. Definitely recommend.

I can’t believe we have never been here before. There is a part of the Park called a “cow camp” and I was shocked to see they still have Andalusian cattle that came from the original herd that was there back in the 1800’s. The horse is also a rare breed…Carolina Marsh Tacky. Pretty interesting.
