Customer Reviews
This park is beautiful, and fairly well secured. Gate code access is needed to enter. Our campsite sat right on the water. These spaces are very level all of them have poured concrete a fire pit and a very nice secured picnic table. It is extremely easy to navigate especially with a very large RV (42-ft fifth wheel). The shower house was nice clean although we did not use it as we have a spacious on board bathroom. Since this park is so new there are no mature trees so not a lot of shade. Full hookups will give you plenty of power to run your AC. I would highly recommend this park. It is very well kept, clean, and easy to navigate.
Nice concrete pads and full hookup for RVs with gated entry. A free playground and beach (with admission fee) are also nearby, and the restroom/showers are nice. A lot of space between sites, but no trees at all which makes the sites feel exposed, less cozy, and kind of like camping in a parking lot. Not quite five stars because there are tons of stickers/sandburs in the grass and kids couldn't play much outside. The top of the sewer pipe is high off the ground which makes for a mild inconvenience getting a good seal on the connector when emptying the tanks, but not a deal breaker.
Very quiet and clean campground that requires an access code to get past gate. All the sites are level concrete with good water pressure and stable electric. The sewer connection uses an unthreaded drop. Our spot was spacious and with a great view of the lake. Not too many bugs either!
On our way out west and found this beautiful little campground outside of Omaha. All cement roads, huge concrete pads, sturdy picnic tables and fire pits. Full 50 amp hookups. Great park with a beach area and lake plus bike trails. $26 a night. I’m editing this post because this campground is now a 10+ today. We were able to ride our bikes from our campsite all the way right into downtown Omaha on beautiful trails and over the Bob Kerrey pedestrian bridge. About a 12 mile round trip. Perfect.
We camped at the RV campground for a week (though I was gone most of that week on a business trip). We entered the park from the east side and followed the signs for the campground once we were inside the park. There is a small office - more of a glorified kiosk - at the entrance to the campground, with signs on how to make a last-second reservation. Because we had reserved ahead of time, we simply needed to consult the reservation email for the gate code, punch in the gate code, and follow the signs to our area of the campground. All of the 40 sites are well-marked with a post with the site number at the entrance to the site. The campground has a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. The back-in sites are blind-side back-ins, but they're angled well and there are no obstacles to worry about besides the site number post. All of the sites have concrete pads with a large concrete patio and a large bolted-down metal picnic table, with a tall fire ring with a grilling surface just off the patio. Each site also has a wide grass lawn - plenty of space between campers - and is open to the sky. Our back-in site (site 33) was level and just long enough for us to place the RV so all of the jacks and stabilizers were on the concrete and still have room to park the truck in front, and we had nice views of the lake from both the back and passenger sides of our fifth wheel. The hookups were reasonably placed but the sewer connection was not threaded. The only amenities within the campground itself is a small bathhouse with a single unisex room containing a bathroom and a shower and a pair of dumpsters. But a short walk across the day-use parking lot brings you to large pavilion and an even larger playground. There is also a paved walking path that connects the campground to the beach area, but that beach area is closed off after Labor Day. There are no enclosed dog parks, but there are plenty of grassy areas for walking dogs. In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 47 Mbps down and 12 up, and we had no trouble streaming video except for occasional buffering. The best speed test I ran on my 5G AT&T smartphone showed 47Mbps down and 7 up. There is no WiFi at the campground. We were a little concerned that some of the other park gates might be closed late at night, which would have made our midnight trip to the Omaha airport a challenge, but they stayed open. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
Our confirmation email included precise directions from I-29, with an interstate sign confirming the turn for Lake Manawa State Park, and provided the gate code for access. We proceeded to back-in site 28 with full hookups; the back-in was easy, and the site was level, with utilities located toward the rear and a slight uphill grade to the sewer connection. The campground (CG) features well-spaced, spacious sites with no trees nearby great for satellite access. We had a bit of a water view through the trees, and connectivity was decent with 2 bars on Verizon and 3 on T-Mobile; water pressure was around 40 psi. We arrived on a Thursday for a four-night stay, and the CG filled up over the weekend. About 150 yards from our site was the popular Dreamland playground, which draws families with young kids to that side of the CG next time, we'd choose a site farther from the playground for more quiet.
The process to reserve, the ease of access, the restroom/shower was spacious and clean, and finding my spot was all so easy it's hard to complain about them. The campground was clean and well maintained, easy access to the lake. My one complaint was that my electricity didn't work, I just had my tent but had brought my electric skateboard with so I could ride around the lake and neighborhoods but I wasn't able to charge it in the 110/220 plug it was as if there was some type of blocking plate not allowing the plug to go into the socket.
We really enjoy this campground. The lake is lovely, playground is fabulous and walking paths are great. There is little to no shade around the campsites but they are spaced far apart and have wide, level concrete pads with extra patio space and new solid picnic tables and fire pits. Camp host was present and helpful but not intruding at all. We highly recommend this park.
