Lake Monroe Village

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the "rustic cabin" (#22) was. The sheets were clean and white, the pillows fluffy, and the cabin inside appeared to have been well-cleaned. There were thoughtful touches, such as a full roll of paper towels, a basket of tea, a broom and dustpan, and the fridge and microwave were very clean. I expected it to be more "rustic", and, honestly, if the mattresses had been more like what you'd find in a nice hotel, I wouldn't call it rustic at all, and I would have been okay paying even a bit more because of the nice location (several minute drive down to the beach) and the friendly atmosphere of the campground. Staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We spent two nights there and were always happy to return to the cabin after excursions. The showerhouse was clean enough (with hot water!) that we had no problem using that, and we are generally pretty picky. We are a couple with two kids and all agreed we'd like to return. Our daughter's favorite part was riding around in the golf cart to look at how the neighbors decorated their RV lots. Thanks for the great Fall Break weekend trip!

I stayed in one of their cabins and had a great experience. Everything was clean and the cabin was super cute! All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and accommodating. They even had some great activities going on throughout the weekend for both families and adults. With the lake right there the location can’t be beat!! The RV sites looked really fancy and clean, and there was a really nice primitive camping area by the lake to setup a tent. Plenty of space back there for groups, too! There was a big family there with yard games setup and everyone was living their best life. That spot is next on my list. Thanks to all of the staff for a very pleasant stay! We will definitely be returning soon for the beautiful fall weather. This is such a great alternative to the state park camping around Lake Monroe.

After a few years traveling to different destinations we decided that we were ready to get a seasonal site and a place to call our home away from home. We researched and visited numerous options within the radius of our home and everything pointed back to LMV! When you factor in the community feel and layout, pool, activities, staff, and site choices, there was no question where we wanted to be. Pricing is on par or a little better than parks of equal (and some lesser) caliber. We just got our coach on our new site and can’t wait to start making friends and memories!!

We love this campground and consider it the best in Bloomington - we’ve stayed in two others and are so glad we found this one! The staff are courteous and friendly, the grounds are beautiful and well-kept, and the pool is sparkling clean! They have a great dog park and our site is lovely. We will stay here every time we are in town in the future.

Very cute cabin, definitely rustic! Sleeps 6, has a small fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. No shower or utensils or cups. We cooked over the open fire and I brought my camping gear for that. Very nice community, the public bathrooms and showers were clean and nice.

Lake Monroe Village was able to get us 4 sites together (last minute) after our scheduled campsites were washed away in Kentucky! It was a bit late in the season to schedule 4 sites together, but Jenny took such great care to get us the 4 sites! Then when we arrived, Elizabeth was absolutely wonderful and such a delight! So we’re very happy with the customer care, and will definitely return!! The RV Park itself is just lovely and rolling, and the guest’s sites are just lovely. Some new, and very up-to-date facilities! Lots of great things to do and places to visit nearby!

Choosing where to stay on vacation when you’re not from the area can sometimes be nerve-wracking. Lake Monroe Village is the best choice I could’ve possibly made! The scenery is beautiful and there are so many options for things to do around the campground. We didn’t get in until after the office closed and the office staff left a voicemail with detailed instructions for a late check-in and made the process very easy, which I am very thankful for. Overall, if you’re looking for a place to stay, this is the one!

We had a great time tent camping. There were nice bathrooms close by and even laundry facilities. The lake was right near the tent camping. Just a short walk away. We will definitely be back here.

Our first trip in our camper was made even better by Lake Monroe Village. Our site was level, the hookups were conveniently located, and we enjoyed a relaxing evening by the firepit. We definitely plan to return soon!
