We stayed at KOA Lake of the Ozarks this past weekend for the holiday. We had an amazing experience! The site was very spacious with room to set up some yard games for our kids. We were located very close to the pool, game room, playground, and bath house. The restrooms and showers were the cleanest I have seen at any campground! The pool was very clean with enough room for everyone to swim and have seats in the pool area. My son had fun playing ping pong and checkers in the game room. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were even nice enough to let us buy some firewood after the camp store was closed so we could keep our fire going. For Labor Day they had an ice cream party with two pinatas for the kids to enjoy. The owners and grounds crew are always hard at working improving the campground since taking over the property from the previous owners. We will definitely be coming back for another visit! Very family friendly and felt very safe.
I do wish the website gave a better picture of what this place actually looked like. Very run down and not well maintained. The roads throughout campground were washed out and not in good condition for campers. No one was working in the store and you had to call. There’s also a few permanent mobile homes at the top of the property that are private residences and it’s just an odd setup. There was also trash throughout the campground and the dumpster was overflowing onto the ground for our entire stay. We e had great experiences with KOA’s over the years but will never go back to this one.
Staff is friendly and thats about it. Not what i expect from koa. Campground is very run down, roads are washed out dumpster overflowing cable tv non operational at least in our site, sites very unlevel, pool not open as posted on web site. Bought two bundles of fire wood, got 7 pieces for 12 bucks. Wont stay here again..Koa needs to re rate this Campground
We stayed in the Moose cabin for a quick weekend trip and the cabin was perfect! It does have air conditioning and the amenities of the campground were great! We felt very safe and secure. Not a negative but just to clarify, there is one larger bed and the two small beds are twins which you have to crawl across a loft to reach. Overall, it was a great location and a lovely campsite! I would highly recommend!
Stayed here from Sunday till Friday. Check in was easy and luckily we got a cabin right at the front , so next to the pool! The cabin was just the perfect size, with a little porch, small fire place, picnic table, and a camping grill! There are your necessary tools- can opener, spatula, silverware knives. You basically get everything you need! The only thing I didn’t see was a pan, but we brought our own. It was in the middle of everything so usually about a 15-25 min drive to things we wanted to see/do. The pool was clean as well as the cabin and facilities. We went with the moose cabin. The biggest thing I’d say for people thinking of getting it, is really be aware when they say it’s a tight squeeze over to the other side- my husband and I crawled to get over there (we don’t mind just I didn’t understand it till I got in the cabin!)All the sleeping is upstairs the big bed is right by the stairs and then the passage to get to the other beds! The beds were actually comfy and there was a futon to sleep on as well. Lastly the stairs are very very creaky and loud. Thankfully my kids are heavy sleepers, but just a heads up for those who have light sleepers and are a mom who still has to go to the bathroom at night 😂. I’d definitely recommend staying here!
