Lake Road Campground Introduce
Welcome to Lake Road Campground, a charming and peaceful family-owned retreat nestled in Trempealeau, Wisconsin. Located at 23828 Lake Road, this campground offers a warm, inviting, and safe community feel, making it an excellent choice within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. Formerly known as Mulberry Meadows RV Resort, Lake Road Campground provides a serene escape along the iconic Mississippi River and Wisconsin's Great River Road, an area consistently voted as one of America's most scenic drives. It serves as an ideal base for exploring the unique beauty of the surrounding Hidden Valleys region and engaging in various outdoor activities.
The environment at Lake Road Campground is characterized by its cozy and well-maintained setting amidst beautiful mature trees and manicured lawns. The campground offers picturesque views of the Great Mississippi River, providing a tranquil backdrop for your stay. While the campground itself is not directly on the water, its proximity to the Mississippi River (with a boat landing just minutes away) ensures easy access to water-based recreation. The natural surroundings contribute to a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding by a campfire. It's important to note that the campground is located just a block away from active train tracks. Passing trains are a frequent occurrence, which some consider an "essential Mississippi River experience" adding to the local character, while others may find the noise a surprise if not anticipated. Despite this, the overall ambiance remains peaceful, and the tree cover provides ample shade for many of the sites. The commitment to a clean and well-cared-for environment is evident throughout the property, ensuring a pleasant experience for all guests.
Lake Road Campground provides a range of services designed for convenience and comfort during your stay. For accommodations, the campground offers a total of 20 sites. These are primarily electric-only hookups, catering to both RVs and tent campers who prioritize electricity. While specific amperage details for all sites aren't widely published, the provision of electric-only hookups implies a focus on basic, yet essential, amenities for campers. A significant portion of these sites, specifically 15, are designated as seasonal sites. This allows long-term campers to establish a semi-permanent base, reducing the hassle of frequent setup and tear-down. For guests who do not have their own camping equipment, Lake Road Campground offers rentals, including cabins with bathrooms and kitchenette facilities. These rentals provide a more luxurious and comfortable camping experience, bridging the gap between traditional camping and a hotel stay. Guests can also rent golf carts, which are convenient for navigating the campground grounds and exploring the local area. Essential facilities include clean restrooms with free showers, a welcome amenity for campers. A laundry facility is available on-site, providing a practical solution for longer stays. For cooking, wood for sale is available, allowing campers to enjoy traditional campfires. While there is no dump station directly on-site at Lake Road Campground, campers are invited to use the dump station at nearby Perrot State Park, located just 2.2 miles away, for a small fee. Additionally, a weekly pump-out service is available at the guest's expense by request, offering a convenient alternative for RVers. Chris and Rachel Ford are mentioned as the hosts, indicating a family-owned and operated approach, which often translates to personalized and attentive service.

Customer Reviews
Lake Road is a hidden gem for campers, right off the river in Wisconsin. The sites are level and spacious, with easy access and just enough shade. Waking up and watching the sunrise over the river was the highlight of our trip. The amenities are clean and well maintained and there's free Wi-Fi. It’s peaceful, friendly, and close to Trumpelou. Whether you're stopping for a night or settling in for a few days, this spot hits the sweet spot between nature and comfort. Also check out the bar nearby for really good smash burgers.
Love the bathroom! So many camp baths don’t have clothes hooks, or benches, shelves for shampoo, etc. And to have a warm heater blowing on you when you come out of the shower, tis better than home! It is close to the river, marina, Lock and Dam, bike path, and state park. The train noises soon became part of the charm! I recommend this small campground to all.
Awesome place, everything you need, great bed too. Actually pretty quiet for a full campground!
Lake Road Campground was just what we needed. The facilities were nice and clean, the campground was quiet, and the check-in/out process was quick and easy. Plus the campground is located near lots of great natural areas! Would definitely stay there again!
Booked both Cottage 1 & 2 and found them to be very cozy and comfy. We had a wonderful time! Campground is well maintained and peaceful. Brought my 2 small dogs and they enjoyed the "Dog Park" onsite, which was so convenient. Location perfect for sightseeing, hiking, biking. Plan to return!
