AWSOME place to camp and fish! I was there in June and caught multiple spotted bass in the 1-2lb. zone with jerk baits. If you are more interested in trout then I would suggest either walking or boating to the top of the lake where the Sacramento River flows in and drift worms under bobbers. I would have loved to stay at this resort and booked it for Labor Day weekend, but when I called about a question they informed me they had put us in a tent site and I had to cancel because they had no other spots. I lost $60ish for the deposit. Now, when you book at a campground you have to put in your specs- for us we’re 50ft of truck and trailer and need 30amp electric. And these places are supposed to only put you in spots that fit. This campground only lets to pick your campsite if you pay extra- I figured they could pick for me, they have my specs. Nope! They put us in a 20ft, 15amp tent site. Thank goodness I had called about something else or I would have never known and we would’ve driven for 2+ hours only to go right back home. For anyone booking, know you need to pay extra to pick your site or they might move you somewhere you won’t fit! I can’t believe I lost $60 (the deposit) AND our plans for Labor day weekend were shot. Terrible way to do business guys. I won’t try again.
This is a fun place and I like the family atmosphere (during the day). The campsites are nice and not too crammed together. However, for the price it costs to camp, there should at least be some curfew rules enforced. Music past curfew and screaming/howling from multiple campgrounds seem to be the normal behavior here. I am not the type to worry about noise, but it is at a whole other level here 😬. It's a hard place to put kids to bed. Just beware if you're not into that sort of thing
We camped on our way to California. I don't get how people rate this place so badly. It was wonderful IMO. It's a campground with lots of kids, bicycles, lots of people I mean a lot but to me it seems to be taken care of to allow it to continue to run. The hollowing was when quiet time was happening. After that everyone got quiet. Every guest we met was friendly and excited to be camping. We wished we would have gotten to stay few days longer. Cool place. I'll be back with my friends and family.
Beware when renting their cabins. We stayed in L14 and it was awful. Bed is in horrendous shape, floor around toilet was soft and toilet was very loose. Not well maintained for what you pay. The view and location is what drives the price but the cabin was in rough shape. Staff was understanding and apologized. No offer for refund for the night I had to leave because the bed was unbearable to sleep in.
