Lovely little Arkansas State Park - that i had never heard of! I found it on All Trails app for hiking. I didn't know what to expect, I just knew there was hiking. The lake is small, has a great swimming area, plenty of day use benches and picnic areas. Nice clean bathrooms and easy access family bathrooms. Showers in the camping area bathrooms. Several fishing areas to walk out on. You can easily hike to the dam overlook. We will be back to hike and kayak.

Although appearing rather remote, this recreational area boasts some great swimming, fishing, camping, and places to picnic. The restrooms and changing facilities are impeccable and well maintained. Safety and security seem to be a high priority as well, since you'll often find a Park Ranger "on patrol" and ready to answer any questions that arise. Unfortunately, we are obligated to leave a four star (not a five star) rating solely due to the hiking and biking trails. The potential is definitely there for some phenomenal trails in the area, mainly due to extraordinary terrain and stunning views. Illegible maps, lack of placement, and poorly manicured trails contribute to a sense of deterioration and dilapidation. This recreational area will be a must-see destination if the aforementioned issues are addressed properly.

Gorgeous! No clue how I have not been here before but now that we have, we will be back!! Very clean restrooms, with shower. Spots were all clean and quiet. The swimming spot is very close and just perfect for the family! I didn't encounter one person who was not smiling. There is beautiful creeks, animals and trails to see.
