Customer Feedback:
During winter months, these cabins offer exceptional value, especially with Tahoe's vibrant ski season. While prices are higher during other seasons, many guests find alternatives like Airbnb to be suitable then.
Pretty small, pretty run down and sparsely equipped. We always bring our own cooking equipment and extra towels. It used to be a lot cheaper but at $180 it's only worth it during the winter months when the ski season drives up area lodging prices. During the spring, summer and fall seasons you would do better on Airbnb or most other hotels in the area.
The location is great, quick access to the main road but still finds tranquility. 30 minutes drive to Sand Harbor. I stayed upstairs @ the forest view 3 cabin for 2 nights, got a peek-a-boo view to the lake, cabin was nicely finished but the bathroom is due for some maintenance. The wall heater in the bedroom was noisy, light sleeper beware. The cabin didn't have a hair dryer, bring your own if you need one. Bring your own cooking oil if you plan to cook, the cabin only provided the spray on cooking oil.
Older A-Frame rentals. 2 buildings with 2 units each. Upper is 1 bedroom and lower is 2 bedroom. The Station is very quiet and on the lake. Supplies might be short for the number staying, but ask for what you need and the troops will do their best to accommodate. Contracted cleaning service appears to perform only minimal surface cleaning. This lodging is MWR. Person reserving must be active duty or veteran and must occupy the unit. We ARE looking forward to our next stay.
We have had the most amazing vacations at the A Frames. We have gone up here in groups and then just a a family. They have the best rates for military. I am so glad that we found out about this location. We go up there every chance we get. It doesn’t matter what time of the season you go up there the area is so nice. There are plenty of stores and restaurants in the area and a wide variety. If your looking for a great place for your family this is a great option.
We stayed at Forest View 3 with our toddler in early August. Easy check in during normal hours. Forest View 3 is the top floor to the cabin farthest from the water. You have easy access to the pier next to the boat landing after you climb over a few rocks. The kitchen had all necessary items (pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, plates). Very quiet floors. The rooms do not have air conditioning as is normal for most places in this area. The temperatures during our stay reached the 80s and we were comfortable using the fan in the room at night to bring cold air in. Highly recommend a visit here if you have the fortune of booking a room!
