I have mixed feelings about reviewing this campground. On one hand, I want everyone to enjoy it's beauty and amenities. On the other hand, I hate to see it become overly crowded, due to positive reviews. Anyway, it's great! Very nice level camping spots, with clean table areas and nice firepits (for the short season we get to actually use them). The outhouses are very clean and pleasant to use, refuse areas are bear proof and fresh/potable water is nearby. The lake is beautiful, but over zealous jet skiers can hamper the serenity of the lake. Tons of fish to be caught and wildlife commonly visit you. My one negative is that there are a lot of downed trees that I would saw up and use as camp firewood, which that isn't allowed, according to the camp host. To me, it is a tidyness issue that is government controlled and out of my hands, still a bit of an eyesore. Overall, I would highly recommend this campground. It is a pay-to-stay, so bring your checkbook or cash, and enjoy the majestic forest above your tent.
This campground recommendation was given to us by a friend who without hesitation said "you've got to camp there!". It was an excellent suggestion, a campground with a clean, quiet and scenic environment. Great trails within the camp area and the nearby recreational areas. Our only concern was the motorized boat and wave runner traffic on the lake, it being a smaller lake and the speed at which those boats and wave runners were cause for concern with canoes, kayaks and swimmers. Not enough to turn us away, but something to be considered if that worries you. We will be back again! Peaceful, pleasant and unwinding! Additionally, the Beaver Lodge Resort is excellent too, providing both a quick grocery grab and a restaurant with some great and friendly staff.
We took our canoe up to lake Thomas to meet up with my son who was camping. There are 4 separate lakes, all connected by a channel of water between each, so you can paddle between all four. Motorized boats and skidoos are allowed. We had success in fishing with trout and perch caught and we release. The campsite caretakers are friendly. The campsites are clean and sheltered beneath the pines with trails to the lake itself. There is a boat launching area with a dock. Close by is a more formal privately owned campground where you can get phone service and electric plugins if your not into roughing it. There is no cell service in the campground my son stayed in. So if you want to get away from it all, this is the place. It's about two hours out of Spokane.
We stayed at number 9 and it was perfect, nice and shady with nice water access! It is a bit of a hike to get to the water. Lots of trails, beach area, private and near by store.
Had a great time the sites were clean and mostly private we stayed in site 15 very large site with direct lake access. The out house style bathrooms are clean and well maintained the camp hosts were amazing great fishing, lots of places to explore definitely will be a repeat visitor.
