Lake view Park and Campground Introduce

šŸžļø Introduction / Overview of Lakeview Park and Campground

For Wisconsin residents seeking a convenient, full-service camping experience coupled with the charm and quiet of a small Northwoods town, Lakeview Park and Campground in Rib Lake is an exceptional choice. This facility, managed by the Village of Rib Lake, offers a unique blend of modern amenities and a beautiful, natural setting, all contained within a manageable, intimate park environment.

Lakeview is celebrated by visitors for being a small, clean, and quiet campground. It features the essential modern amenities often sought by RV travelers and families—namely water, electric, and flush toilets—making it far more comfortable than rustic county or national forest sites. Crucially, as a small, municipal park, it typically sits at the end of a road, minimizing traffic and maximizing the peaceful atmosphere. One satisfied group of tenters gave it a "good recommendation" for its location and essential services.

Its primary appeal is its location directly adjacent to the shores of Rib Lake, providing immediate access to water recreation and beautiful scenery without requiring a remote drive deep into the wilderness. It represents the perfect Wisconsin vacation balance: comfort, convenience, and natural beauty.

šŸ—ŗļø Location and Accessibility for Wisconsin Users

Lakeview Park and Campground is ideally situated in the town of Rib Lake, deep in Taylor County, making it a highly accessible Northwoods destination for many Wisconsin residents.

  • Village Location (Address: 305 Park Row, Rib Lake, WI 54470, USA): The campground is located right within the Village of Rib Lake, yet it is situated at the edge of town and the lake, giving it a peaceful, peripheral feel. This placement means access to local stores, restaurants, and other village services is easy and immediate.
  • End-of-the-Road Seclusion: As noted by reviews, the campground is located "at the end of a road," which significantly limits drive-through traffic and noise, enhancing the quiet atmosphere.
  • Paved Road Access: The drive to the campground is easily managed on paved Wisconsin state and county highways, leading right to the park area, which is highly advantageous for RVs, trailers, and campers who prefer smooth travel.
  • Rib Lake Shoreline: The park offers direct proximity and views of Rib Lake, the primary draw for water recreation in the area.

šŸ’§ Services Offered

Lakeview Park and Campground stands out for offering a robust suite of modern services, which is a significant amenity for a small municipal facility.

  • Campsites: The campground is small and offers sites suitable for both RVs and tents. Sites generally feature a natural setting with good spacing, though the total number of sites is limited.
  • Full Utility Hookups: Sites are equipped with essential utilities, including water and electricity. Crucially, some sites may offer sewer hookups, providing rare and sought-after full-service convenience for RV campers.
  • Modern Sanitation: Flush toilets and shower facilities (bathhouse) are available to all campers. The availability of hot showers and flush toilets greatly enhances the comfort of the camping experience, particularly for tenters and families.
  • Potable Water: Reliable, pressurized water access is available at the sites and throughout the park for cooking and drinking.
  • Fire/Picnic Amenities: Each site typically includes a fire ring and a picnic table, though one review noted some tables had an "odd construction." Other tables in the park are "normal."
  • Reservations: The Village of Rib Lake manages reservations, which can typically be made by contacting the Village office via the provided phone number. Given the small size, reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak summer weekends.

šŸžļø Features / Highlights

Lakeview Park and Campground’s features capitalize on its beautiful lakefront setting and its integration with local town services.

  • Rib Lake Access: The campground offers immediate, direct access to Rib Lake, a sizable water body (approximately 330 acres). This is perfect for fishing, swimming, paddling (canoes/kayaks), and boating (motorized boating is allowed, though the lake is generally quiet).
  • Recreational Trail Hub: The park is often connected to the Rib Lake Ice Age Trail Pathway, offering access to a section of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and other local walking/biking trails. This is ideal for those who enjoy non-motorized recreation.
  • Quiet, Clean Atmosphere: Visitors consistently praise the quiet nature of the campground and its cleanliness. The small size and end-of-the-road location contribute significantly to this peaceful ambiance.
  • Proximity to Village Amenities: Being within the village means campers have quick access to essential services like the local general store, gas, and small local restaurants, which is a major advantage over remote forest camping.
  • Natural Setting: Despite being a village park, it maintains a natural setting with mature trees and a scenic lake view, successfully balancing urban proximity with outdoor tranquility.

The Park worked out great for our group of 4 tenters. Location is good, was handy to have water, electric and flush toilet and shower available. Campground is small and with natural setting. Only complaint for our group were the picnic tables at our site were constructed odd and they were hard to sit at. Other tables in the park were normal. It gets a "good recommendation" from us.

Nice, small campground at the end of a road. Quiet, clean. We didn't camp there just visiting, but seemed nice.

Unfortunately, without a camp host, Rib Lake is not taking care of the campground. I've been camping here for several years. This year, the mosquitoes are so bad, they don't cut the grass, which would help with mosquitoes and keeping sites clean. Showers are now $1.00, and time has been shortened. With the economy the way it is, now is not the time to cut corners and raise prices. Camp fees should cover cost of showers or at least go back to a quarter showers. I do have to say that the bathrooms are clean for the most part. Will find a different campground when we come back to town.

I love the view the only thing is, is that they cleaned out some of the seaweed and now it stinks really bad. But otherwise I loved camping here for the weekend!
