Customer Feedback: "Lovely park with many mature shade trees. The lake is great for paddleboarding when calm. We had an unpleasant experience with strong odors during our stay, but the natural beauty compensated for it." - A satisfied camper

We stayed at a tent site while some other family members stayed at a different tent site and in a cabin. One thing that wasn't clear from the reservation was that you cannot drive up to your campsite and you cannot park at your campsite. Fortunately, a parking lot is pretty close to the campsites, but it was a little disappointing to have to pack in everything and then pack out everything after. Second, the campsites are not distinct areas. There are signs that denote your campsite number, but that's the extent of the boundaries. All the campsites were very close together where you could very easily hear people at other campsites. There were a couple bathrooms in easy walking distance to choose from. It's very close to the lake and a couple docks. We ended up having to leave early because of storms, but it was a beautiful place.
Lovely park, many mature shade trees- when calm, the lake is a nice paddle. We RV camped over a weekend in late September and the manure/sewage smell which came and went, was so strong it woke us both out of a sound sleep and made it very unpleasant to eat dinner the next day. I'm sure there's nothing really the park service can do about it, but it really is exceptionally unpleasant.
Lake Walcott is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are stunning. I will definitely be going back to stay in their lovely cabins this summer.
Nice place, weather is a hit and miss. Sprinklers go off at 3p daily so it's an adventure getting to your spot.
Park has some design flaws. Cabin was hit by sprinklers from 11pm till 12am. Annoying! The Lake is beautiful. The place is quiet -bonus. Tenting in front of cabins which seemed odd. Usually tents are away from cabins. Restrooms inconveniently placed. There was a water main break which apparently flooded part of park (not it's fault). Cabins are close to the day use area. It's our experience day use has been away from cabins, camping etc. But it's swimming access. I am partially disabled. In my opinion this park may be difficult for disabled persons. We probably won't be returning. 🙁
