Lakeview Campground Introduce
For Kansans who seek the beauty of the outdoors combined with essential campsite utilities, **Lakeview Campground** at Perry State Park offers a compelling destination. As its name suggests, this campground provides scenic overlooks and close proximity to the water of the magnificent **Perry Lake (Perry Reservoir)**. It stands as a testament to the dedication of **Kansas State Parks**, which consistently earns praise for keeping the entire park in a pristine condition—a key factor for local users choosing their next getaway.
Lakeview Campground is a popular choice due to its picturesque setting and the convenient 50-amp electrical service available at many sites. However, it offers a distinct, rustic experience that rewards the prepared camper. Its sites are situated on a natural **hillside**, offering unique views but requiring careful navigation for those driving larger RVs or fifth-wheel trailers. This campground is perfect for the experienced Kansas camper who prioritizes stunning scenery and a meticulously clean park environment over easy, flat access or high-privacy bathroom facilities. It's a place where families can enjoy the natural beauty of Perry Lake and access a great playground, all while being assured of a well-maintained setting.

Lakeview Campground is an integral part of the renowned **Perry State Park**, situated near the town of **Ozawkie, KS 66070, USA**. The contact phone number, **(785) 246-3449**, connects directly to the State Park office, confirming its state-managed status. This location is particularly desirable for Kansans, being nestled in the northeastern part of the state, approximately 30 minutes northwest of Lawrence and a short drive from the Topeka metro area.
The campground is positioned to give guests immediate proximity to the **12,500-acre Perry Lake**, one of the state's most popular destinations for fishing, boating, and recreation. However, users should note that the campground layout, which is built into a **hillside**, can present some challenges. Campers with longer fifth-wheel RVs should be prepared for potential **tight turns** and the absence of clear one-way travel signs in all areas, making careful driving essential. While the sites are close to the water, the elevation provides the scenic views that give the area its name, justifying the extra attention needed during maneuvering.

Lakeview Campground provides utility-rich camping sites within the State Park system, focusing on essential power and water hookups necessary for modern RV use. The services reflect a commitment to quality maintenance and providing reliable infrastructure.
- **Utility Sites:** Features campsites offering both **water and 50-amp electric hookups**, a valuable amenity for larger, modern RVs and extended summer stays in Kansas heat.
 - **No Sewer Hookups:** Users should be aware that sites typically **do not have sewer hookups**. Sewage disposal is managed via a central dump station elsewhere in the park (users should confirm the location upon arrival).
 - **Clean Park Grounds:** Kansas State Parks is recognized for an **amazing job of keeping the park pristine**. The overall cleanliness of the grounds and area is a consistent highlight for visitors.
 - **Primitive Shower House:** The communal shower facilities are distinctly **rustic** or "jail house style," as one guest noted. They feature **wide open stalls**, some with two shower heads, and critically, **no curtains or privacy**.
 - **On-site Staff Support:** The park is staffed and managed by Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism (KDWPT) personnel, ensuring professional oversight and assistance with any issues.
 - **Online Reservations:** The use of **online reservation systems** allows users to view photos of the sites, though it is noted that photos may not always accurately convey the **hillside incline** of the spots.

The highlights of Lakeview Campground center on its unique physical advantages—the stunning views and the family-friendly amenities that encourage outdoor recreation at Perry Lake.
- **Scenic Water Views:** The most significant feature is its location on a hillside, which affords **beautiful views** and ensures the campground lives up to its **Lakeview** name. The park is described as "pretty" and **close to the water**.
 - **High-Capacity Electric:** The availability of **50-amp electric** is a key feature for modern RV travelers, allowing for efficient operation of air conditioning and appliances.
 - **Nice Playground:** Families particularly appreciate the inclusion of a **nice playground**, providing a safe, dedicated area for children to enjoy outdoor activity.
 - **Access to Perry Lake Recreation:** Guests have quick access to all the activities of Perry Lake, including **boating, fishing, and swimming**. The lake is renowned for its excellent crappie and channel catfish populations.
 - **Pristine Park Condition:** The overall commitment by Kansas State Parks to maintaining the campground and surrounding park area in a **pristine** condition means guests can expect clean surroundings.
 - **Proximity to Nature:** The surrounding area offers rich opportunities for **hiking and wildlife viewing** along the many trails within Perry State Park, immersing guests in the natural environment of Northeast Kansas.

Lakeview Campground is an excellent choice for Kansas users who prioritize **scenic lake views and high-capacity electrical power (50 amp)** within a consistently **pristine and well-maintained State Park system**. While the hillside location and the lack of privacy in the shower house (the "jail house style" with wide open stalls) are acknowledged trade-offs, the overall experience is highly valued by repeat visitors who always have a **great time at Perry Lake**.
The primary advantage here is the combination of **water and 50-amp hookups** near the beautiful water, which is essential for comfortable RVing during Kansas summers. The fact that the park is reliably clean, from the grounds to the general amenities, ensures a high quality of stay. For the experienced RV owner or family looking for a beautiful, amenity-rich base camp from which to explore the fishing and boating of Perry Lake, and who can manage the hillside access and primitive shower privacy, Lakeview Campground offers a rewarding, scenic Kansas getaway.

Customer Reviews
We always have a great time at Perry Lake. Kansas State Parks do an amazing job of keeping the park pristine.
The park is pretty. Close to the water. The sites are on a hillside and that was hard to tel from the photos with online reservation. No signs for one way travel or not, would hate to meet a truck and trailer going the opposite direction. Some tight turns for a longer 5th wheel RV. Had water and 50 amp, but no sewer. The shower house is “jail house style” as my daughter said. Wide open stalls, some with two shower heads in one stall, no curtains. No privacy. Nice playground. Park was clean.
Just a really beautiful spot. It was October, but warm and people were out enjoying campfires. The almost full moon rose over the lake and you could see without a flashlight!
Camping spots are nice and roomy. Not level. Great views . Wish they would do something about the spider infestation in the bathrooms. Yuck!
Clean, quiet, well-maintained, and scenic. Highly recommended.
