Lakewood Camping Resort

We stayed at Lakewood the entire month of December. On our initial visit in late October, we were very impressed with the amount of activities there were to do, the kid and family friendly amenities, the cleanliness and the location. When we arrived the first of December, we arrived to our site filled with holes. The amenities completely shut down with the exception of a pool and a coffee house, and even most of the bath houses were closed and the general store closed at 4pm. We were very excited to see an island in one of the lakes being decorated with Christmas decorations, seating and outdoor heaters. However, it was always locked up and when we inquired as to when it would be open for us to enjoy, we were told that it would not be unlocked and was only available to rent for special occasions. The arcade, snack bar, and crazy mason were also closed. All while still charging a fee as much as other campgrounds in the area during peak season. I did enjoy how quiet and peaceful it was and the close access to the beachfront. The availability of church services on site was also very appreciated. My electric skateboard with a top speed of 12 miles/hr was not allowed but e-bikes doing north of 20 were apparently no problem. Beautiful property, probably a wonderful place to stay and worth the price when the property is actually “open”

This was our first visit to Lakewood Camping Resort and we were literally blown away by how clean it was, how courteous the staff are and all of the amazing all included amenities they offer. We enjoyed taking bike trips around the resort, the water parks lazy River, the indoor pool (which also features a separate 1 ft kids indoor pool) putt putt golf, paddle boats and easy access to the beach. There was so much more we did not have a chance to enjoy. The resort is clean, spacious and well kept. Also it is very quite and family friendly. We cannot wait to come back again!

And they wonder why their bookings are way down. We camped here for years, before we bought our own golf cart, but they do not appreciate loyalty. I cannot believe that they are so money hungry they won't allow you to bring your own personal golf cart. They want you to rent theirs. Such a waste. Losing business every day bc of this.

Our first time visiting Lakewood and we absolutely love it here! We usually stay at OL but after this trip we will be returning here to Lakewood in the future! Very kid friendly and quiet. The staff have all been polite the campsites are really roomy at least this was the case for us we had a shaded site and it has worked perfectly for us! Another great thing is the bathhouses were spotless every time I went in they have a log on the wall of when it was last cleaned and I was really impressed with that as well I really enjoy that they do have golf carts but it’s not loud and rowdy later at night as we have young children the indoor pool is very nice and bonus points for the hot tub! We were also very impressed with all the food selections in the park as well! All around I can’t find one bad thing to say about Lakewood we love it here and will return in the future!

Stayed in campground just me and wife and to dogs. Had a great 4 day stay. Not to pricey. Better stay there then next door at ocean lakes. Not too many golf carts riding around parking just anywhere. 3rd trip and will go again. Just keep in mind they have like a 2 or 3 day minimum stay which I think they need to get rid of.
