Lamplighter Inn by Vacasa

I don’t often write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience at the Lamplighter Inn because it was by far the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. First off, there were no check-in instructions. The office was closed by the time we arrived, and there was nothing to let us know how to check in. The door had a couple of useless numbers listed, but calling them was a complete waste of time. I spent 20-30 minutes on hold waiting for a “representative” who never picked up, and when we gave up and asked the other people staying at the hotel for help, they seemed just as lost as we were. It was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Now, let’s talk about the beds. When we pulled back the covers, it was obvious that the sheets had not been cleaned. They were simply remade to look fresh. I found crumbs in the bed, which is completely unacceptable. The sheets had visible stains, and it’s hard to believe that they were even washed. It was as if no one had bothered to clean the room before we arrived. The smell in the room was absolutely unbearable. It was musty and unpleasant, as though it hadn’t been aired out in ages. It really felt like the room hadn’t been maintained properly in a long time. Overall, this was a horrible experience, and I strongly recommend avoiding the Lamplighter Inn. Between the lack of communication, dirty beds, and awful smell, there’s no reason anyone should stay here. We ended up spending way more time trying to figure things out than actually enjoying our stay. I’ll never be returning here.

This place is cozy, cute, and clean! I loved the self-check in/out aspect as I often travel using Airbnb and this is standard practice. My only complaint was that the mattress was not very comfortable, but the bedding was nice. I also appreciated the baseboard heating which allowed me to be toasty without hearing a fan running. I would stay again if the beds were upgraded!

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!! Best stay ever the room was super clean! The service was amazing my husband left our dirty towels outside and not even 5 minutes opened the door and clean ones were there for us! The next day I need more soap my husband wrote a note, put other things we need on the note and the last left us bunch stuff! I like that we didn’t need to check in just got a code for our room! I will be coming g back to stay here! Thank you again

Great location. Short drive to local beach access and golf. You can even walk into town. Market and Dollar Tree across the street. Good restaurants close by. We stayed in the suite behind the office with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Love the nice kitchen and living space. We checked in late at night and had easy access with all the information sent to us by email. Stayed four nights and we were very comfortable.

This is a hidden gem. I highly recommend this AirBnB, the host was very professional and very attentive assuring our stay was a pleasant one. Made sure we had good directions, knew where to park, how to get in and anything else we needed to know. Checked in to assure we were good. This is a large 2 bedroom with large living room and kitchen area, and a very nice timbertech deck in the back yard behind a privacy fence. Was very impressed with the comfort of the beds and pillows. We will certainly utilize this place again. Thanks again for the pleasant stay.
