The location can't be beat. I walked to downtown New Braunfels for lunch. It was about half a mile, a very easy stroll. My site is on the river and this campground has river access. There is a great pavilion and steps down to the river. The office staff was very friendly and made an excellent lunch recommendation. The price for full hook up is quite reasonable. There is a locked gate and you get a pass to access the property when you register. The showers were clean and there's plenty of hot water. The laundry room was adequate, nothing fancy but I was able to catch up on laundry. It was pretty quiet except for the train. Now for some turn offs. There appear to be many full time residents here and several campsites are quite cluttered. I felt very safe here but it's a little off putting when you first pull in and see your neighbors using their campsite for storage of all manner of things. Although the train doesn't blow the whistle you definitely hear the them rumbling by. It didn't bother me but if you're a light sleeper that could be a problem. This campground has everything you need but it's definitely not a luxury RV resort.
I love this place, the reviews do not sound accurate. The Manger in the office is very sweet and so helpful. She is one of the kindest people I’ve met at an R.V. park. The gentleman on the cart is there to make sure everyone is safe he has never been rude to me. Both have been nothing but kind and helpful to me during my stay. I have traveled from across the US and visited many parks this is by far my favorite. The location alone beats any other R.V. park.
Went to check this campground out while in the area and the whole experience was just bizarre. The front desk lady was incredibly rude and seemed to not comprehend basic questions. The campground itself is more like a run down trailer park occupied by full time residents. Very unfortunate because you can't be the location.
Memorial Day weekend 2024 - We had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you for providing a clean and safe stay for our family. Pros: Tucked away location Great communication Staff was friendly Clear defined expectations Easy access to town Beautiful river float spots River access Electric & water in tent areas CLEAN bathrooms (my OCD was grateful) Tube rental & shuttle (discount for those camping on property) Close to Landa Falls (more rentals available and there was a DJ) Things to consider: Bathroom access from tents requires tackling uphill steps if walking (not bad but something to be mindful of for those in your group) You can hear the train but this did not take away from the joy of our stay
Not a good park. Lady at the desk is a Cat loving, pencil pushing, Karen. No hospitality, definitely not welcoming.
