Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge

Nice Property, However the service was quite disappointing. we spent one night last weekend at the resort and booked the Villa Suite (best room they offer), after checking in, I took my wife and my son to snow Island and when we returned to our room, heat was not working. we were all a little wet from all the activities from the Snow Island Activities. Had to wrap my 4 yr old son in the blankets so he could be warm, couldn't shower since the hot water was not working nor the fireplace was working. We called the front desk around 7pm for them to have them check it out and the engineer didn't arrive till 9pm, all of us were extremely cold as it was mid 50's in the room. guy at front desk waived the $25 resort fee since the engineer was delayed. when the engineer came, he checked everything out and around 10pm, we were told that heat isn't going to work in this room and they can switch the room or bring a space heater, we opted for different room as we were there for our anniversary and my wife and I wanted to spend some time by the fire place. after that someone came and handed my 4yr old the keys to our new room and left, didn't bother helping us with luggage or anything. We had to pack everything again, and move to a different room in a different villa in the cold weather by ourselves. By the time the move was done, it was around 11pm. Kind of ruined our anniversary night and our 4yr son was already extremely sleepy but couldn't sleep till late because of the whole ordeal. This was a very bad experience, my wife and I have travelled quite a lot around the world and have stayed at luxury resort and have always been accustomed to service that matches the resort's status. However this one was quite disappointing, and most of all, ruined our anniversary night. Expected better service from a 4 star resort especially after booking a suite for the night and tried celebrating my anniversary here.

We are wedding photographers who had the honor of capturing a wedding reception at this venue while the actual ceremony took place in a nearby private pavilion just a short drive away. The ceremony site was a stunning natural setting, surrounded by trees and close to the lake. The weather in late August was ideal, and a gentle breeze came in just as we were taking veil shots, which was a wonderful bonus. Afterward, we headed to a cozy reception room located by a pool. It was an intimate space perfect for a small gathering, accommodating the DJ, cake, bar, welcome table, and guest tables, including those for the Bride and Groom. The food was delicious, and the staff provided a delightful experience. We highly recommend this venue – Reykphoto.

We stayed for three days at this resort and it didn’t disappoint! When walking through the front door, Alex greeted us from the front desk and assisted us with our check-in. We rented a golf cart for the weekend (highly recommend) and George was terrific at helping us with that and explaining where to go. There is so much to do at this resort. The area is beautiful. The weather was perfect all weekend. We took advantage of the heated pool that was open 24/7. We also made a point to try out the fitness center, which had everything we needed, as we are avid gym goers. The drive on the golf cart all over the island was perfect! We were able to catch a sunset, have a few drinks and play some games at Game Changer. We met a few locals that spoke highly of Sidney’s (restaurant inside the lodge). We made sure we went for breakfast the next am and the buffet was perfect, for what we were wanting/looking for. The staff were all very attentive, professional and kind. We plan to come back and bring the kids! Thank you!

I attended a wedding reception here and it was fantastic! The parking is free and onsite! Typically it does cost money to enter the Lanier Islands complex at the gate but your guests parking can be included in the space rental it seems. The staff was helpful and the event was great. Not sure if they supplied all the staff, but I believe they did. The space was in a great location of course! The facility and restrooms were clean and in great working order. I didn’t stay in a room but I’ve heard good things from those who did.

Our room was quite dated and not worth the steep price. Bed was too firm and the pillows were tiny. The AC unit was reminiscent of a roadside motel and woke us up every time it turned on. There was hair in our tub from the previous guests. The grounds are nice and the staff were very accommodating. The level of service is the only luxury found at this location.
