This was a great spot for camping, big open spots and the dirt tracks were easy to move around on. We have a big rig (F350 and a Travel trailer) and we found a great spot straight away, we didn't venture to far in either. I would suggest someone jumping out and checking for any small tree stumps before maneuvering. The only negative, and the reason this isn't a 5 star, was the litter, it wasn't bad when we were there, but I can see at peak season this being a shame. We also think our dog got sick from eating something left behind by another camper, so lesson learned, check the campground. Great group spots though!
The campground is beautiful when there aren't a ton of people and campers crowding the place. It does get incredibly crowded in the summer. It's a primitive, dispersed camping area with no services at all, but we love it here. A big plus is the campground location practically across the street from Canyon Point State Campground where you can fill your camper with water for free. Make sure you have everything you need before you come to Larsen Ridge. You can stay for up to 14 days for free.
Beautiful views, nice hiking trails and nearby lakes!
Perfect weather and area
Not too bad of a place to camp. It offers easy access. The downside is this area can get crowded .
