Las Garzas Campground, nestled in Noel, Missouri, is designed to offer a tranquil setting for campers. The name "Las Garzas," which translates to "The Herons" in Spanish, evokes an image of peaceful wildlife and natural surroundings, hinting at the kind of serene atmosphere the campground aspires to provide. It is a place where visitors can potentially disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse themselves in the simplicity of outdoor living. The concept behind Las Garzas is to create a welcoming environment where families and individuals can gather, relax, and create lasting memories in a natural Missouri setting. While one review praises it as a "good place to go and relax, and have fun with all the family," it's important for potential visitors to consider all available feedback when planning their trip to ensure it aligns with their expectations for a comfortable camping experience.
Las Garzas Campground is situated at 350 Latinos Park Ln, Noel, MO 64854, USA. Noel is a small town in McDonald County, Missouri, known for its scenic rivers and rural charm, particularly along the Elk River. This location places the campground in a relatively secluded area, offering a genuine sense of being away from urban centers.
Accessibility to Las Garzas involves navigating rural roads. While Noel is accessible via state highways, the specific lane leading to the campground suggests a more localized, potentially unpaved or gravel route. Visitors should be prepared for typical rural road conditions, which can sometimes be less maintained than main thoroughfares. Being in southwest Missouri, the campground is within a reasonable driving distance for residents of Springfield, Joplin, and even parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, making it a viable option for a weekend trip or a longer stay for those seeking a change of scenery. However, reports of cars sinking in gravel indicate that the internal roads or parking areas within the campground might present challenges, especially during or after wet weather. It’s always a good idea to check local road conditions and recent weather forecasts before traveling.

For residents of Missouri, especially those in the southwest region, Las Garzas Campground in Noel offers a unique opportunity for a local getaway, particularly for those who value a rustic, family-oriented experience away from crowded tourist spots. If your primary goal is to find a quiet place to relax with your family and enjoy the simple pleasures of being outdoors in rural Missouri, and you are prepared for a more "back-to-basics" camping adventure, Las Garzas might fit the bill.
Locals often seek out destinations that offer a distinct sense of place without requiring extensive travel. Noel’s rural charm and river proximity provide that. For families who are adventurous and adaptable, and perhaps have their own self-contained camping solutions (such as an RV with its own bathroom and kitchen facilities), the reported issues with shared amenities might be less of a deterrent. If you are accustomed to or prefer a less manicured, more natural camping environment, and are willing to overlook certain imperfections in exchange for tranquility and local access, Las Garzas could be a consideration.
However, it is vital for Missouri locals to manage their expectations based on the comprehensive customer feedback available. If pristine facilities, guaranteed pest-free environments, and quiet nights are non-negotiables, then other options may be more suitable. But if a local, rustic escape where you can connect with family and nature, and where you're prepared to handle some inconveniences, is what you're after, Las Garzas could potentially serve as a convenient and memorable spot in your own backyard. As with any outdoor adventure, being well-prepared and having a clear understanding of what to expect will greatly enhance your experience at Las Garzas Campground.

It's a good place to go and relax, and have fun with all the family.
One word...COCKROACHES!!!! They were everywhere and some even road home with us!! We had to clean the car out and leave EVERYTHING outside for a couple days...we even went to the laundromat and washed everything before bringing it into the house. We luckily didn't get any in our house because of all the precautions we took, but it was a such a pain!!! The bathrooms were disgusting, the smell was awful!! I held it for over 15 hours and went to the bathroom at Walmart just to avoid using their facilities. Forget about showering. We drove 30 minutes to the nearest Love's truckstop and took showers. All the cars were sinking in the gravel and had to take like 5 guys to help push them out. The train tracks are just on the other side of the river and incessantly blow their horns while they pass, literally every 45 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!! I could go on and on and on!!!!! JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
Drove by beautiful place
It was great! Found just what I needed!!
River rave 24!!!!
