Beautiful location, very close to the Lassen National Volcanic Park, nice rooms, friendly owners. Me and my fam stayed at the lodge for one night, the rooms were clean and cozy. We also had breakfast the following morning at the restaurant and the food was great! Particularly recommend the espresso coffee and the cappuccino. :)

Pros: Friendly staff, especially Brandy who is awesome. Just 8 miles from Lassen's SW entrance. Can order deli sandwiches at breakfast to take for later in the day. They are big and good. Cons: No A/C (just a ceiling fan which I found insufficient for 90-degree days), a few spiders in the room including on the pillow. Breakfast is average.

The best burger Iโ€™ll ever have in my life. I will never stop loving this town, this area, this lodge, everything. Plumas may have me but Tehama will forever have my heart, mind, and soul. God bless Mineral. Forever, and always. Thank you, to every single person, past and present, and the future, who supports and will support this town. I will never let Mineral die. Ever. Too much love left in me. I love Mineral, CA, with all of my heart. And I always will. #Forever #Mineral #California #Highway36 #Always ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿกโ˜๏ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Friendly, welcoming, and accommodating staff. The rooms are old but everything works, and if you're staying here chances are you're going to be spending most of your time in Lassen NP anyway. The restaurant is also great, especially after a long day of hiking. They have an amazing selection of beer, and many of their recipes are old family recipes belonging to the staff.

I'm giving this place 5 stars because it is a very old lodge, run by a friendly family. The older gentleman lives there year-round and probably has his entire life and his family members come to work the summer. The restaurant was delicious, lots of family recipes and for a very rustic resort, it felt like we had everything we could possibly need at this little motel, a store, a restaurant and a spacious hotel room. I had read the reviews about the grumpy old man, but I assure you that he's just an old guy, set in his ways, and he was respectful to us. He answered all my questions, he can be a bit short with you, but it's just his style. I don't think he means any disrespect. He's an elder and I think you just need to respect his ways and you'll be just fine. I booked a larger room with air conditioning because I was worried it might be too hot without it. I can't even remember if we used the AC or not. The room was a comfortable temperature as far as I remember it. My biggest issue comes from the fact that our room smelled like cigarette smoke. We had the very last room at the end of the row on the right. It was clearly a room that had been smoked in for years. I don't know, all through the 50s-90s? Lol. It had been painted and none of the furniture or blinds or anything else smelled like cigarette smoke, but it the smell was STRONG in the sense that it didn't stink, but it was a persistent odor that bothered my sinuses and head. My boyfriend who is allergic to everything didn't notice a thing. He was completely unbothered. I on the other hand was dying. I'm not particularly sensitive to cigarette smoke, both my parents smoke and so I've had to put up with a lot of cigarette smoke in my lifetime. But this hotel room was just, it was too much for me. I had a headache after being in the room a couple of hours. We ended up leaving at 8pm the last night and just driving the 3 hours home instead of staying the last night. I didn't ask for a refund, because I enjoyed my stay overall. I would stay here again, but I would call ahead and ask if they have any rooms without smoke damage. Please come here knowing that this place has been here forever, likely longer than you've been alive and it's a unique place. A good attitude will serve you well.
