Lava Spa Motel & RV Park

It really is a nice motel in regards to cleanliness and closeness to the pools. But even when you rent the rooms with two beds they only supply one tiny packet of shampoo.. It's about the equivalent of what you squeeze out of a ketchup packet. Doesn't cover one short head of hair. My advice is to bring your own shampoo. Or make sure you ask for extra before their office closes.

The room and bathroom need some serious upgrades, but they are clean. The location is perfect because it is a few minutes walking from the hot springs and restaurants. The parking is convenient and each room has a parking spot across from the room. The receptionist is very friendly and allowed us to park in the motel parking lot while we went to the hot springs before checking in time. And yes, they have a color TV as advertised 🤠

Great price for an unfussy hotel right next to the state pools. We stayed in the pet friendly room and the bed was great. Shout out to the guy at the desk who was chill about us missing out 11 o'clock check out time. The people in this town are great.

We come up to Lava at least a couple of times a year. We used to stay in Tumbling Waters but of course they tore the building down. Now we stay at the Lava spa. I like this place because it’s right across from the hot tubs. The room was very clean. The linens and the pillows were great. They don’t have And of course plenty of hot water! They upgraded three or four years ago and so the bathroom, fixtures and stuff were great. It seems like they’ve done no maintenance since that time. They clearly need to look into their main problem. The Wi-Fi was virtually nonexistent and when it did finally run, it was extremely slow. I was very unhappy with this situation. If they advertise Wi-Fi, they should have working Wi-Fi. We stayed on a Sunday night and there were two rooms rented. Their Wi-Fi should handle that much traffic!

This place is HORRIBLE, first of all, customer service is next to nothing, unable to get a hold of people on the phone when reservations were already made or in the office upon arrival no one was there. Once we checked into the room, it was nasty, unkept and was not properly cleaned. This motel felt like entering a scary clown movie, the showers were so disgusting with caulk coming out, cracks in the showers walls that looked moldy and appeared to be growing bacteria behind them, the showers curtain was so disgusting that it made us not want to even shower out of fear of catching something, both of my children were so grossed out that they could not even shower. There are holes in the carpet by the doors that allow bug to come under ther front door to freely roam the room for your stay with you, under the sink appeared to be mold running down the pipes, the door was rotting or termite infested, the bedding looked unwashed and not trusting to sleep in. We were so Horrified and disgusted that we chose to leave after checking in, I was then told by the desk manager that he would “talk to the owner “and get it refunded” That night or the next day, And then attempted to call three different times and it was told they had not talked to them yet he would and get back to me two weeks later I have heard nothing and still been avoided. I would highly recommend not staying at this motel, it literally ruined the one night that we had there because of how horrible, disgusting, unpleasurable and filthy it was, the manager then blamed the house keeper saying “sometimes they’re good, but we have problems with them” Showing that this must be constant with them, the fear of getting sick, or walking away with some sort of unpleasant disease is real in this motel, it is that disgusting and horrible, I would not trust, sleeping here or having my children in this motel ever. Stay safe and away from this.
