Leatherman's/Falling Waters Campsite Introduce
Welcome to Leatherman's/Falling Waters Campsite, located at 7685 Williamsport Pike, Falling Waters, WV 25419. As part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, this campsite offers a convenient stop for travelers, particularly those using I-81. You can reach them at (304) 274-2791 or +1 304-274-2791.
Customer reviews indicate a mixed experience. While the campsite is praised for its convenient location, less than a mile off I-81, and its suitability for overnight stays, there are notable concerns. Some customers found the assigned sites to be problematic, with issues like muddy exits, uneven ground, and potential flooding during thunderstorms. The roads around the campground are also described as hilly.
The bathroom and shower facilities have received criticism for being outdated, moldy, and lacking cleanliness. There were also reports of broken or empty amenities, such as paper towel dispensers, and a lack of soap and towels. The store, though mentioned as a nice addition, was not always open during customer stays, and staff were reported by some to be not customer focused.
On the positive side, the campsite can accommodate larger vehicles, like a 25-foot Class C towing a Jeep, with ample room for unhooking. The noise from I-81 was not a significant issue for most visitors. The campsite also features a small pond, though it attracts geese.
Here's a summary of the key points:
- Convenient Location: Less than a mile off I-81, making it ideal for travelers.
- Site Conditions: Varied, with some sites prone to mud and flooding.
- Facilities: Bathroom and shower facilities are outdated and need improvement.
- Store: An on-site store is available but may have limited hours.
- Noise: Minimal noise from I-81.
- Pond: A small pond on the property.
Leatherman's/Falling Waters Campsite offers a convenient location for travelers, but potential guests should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding site conditions and facility cleanliness. If you're looking for a quick overnight stop and prioritize convenience over amenities, this campsite might be suitable. However, if you require modern and well-maintained facilities, you might want to consider alternative options.

Customer Reviews
A decent option for an overnight stay. We have a 25 foot Class C towing a Jeep and arrived after closing with a map, receipt and rules left where promised. Plenty of room to unhook out front. Roads around the campground are hilly, but our site was relatively level. The bathroom could use some updating and cleaning. Automatic paper towel dispenser was either broken or empty from the moment of arrival. As was mentioned in other reviews, most people staying here are full-timers, but that’s okay with us. Less than a mile off I-81, so very convenient for those traveling the interstate. We had no issue of road noise as mentioned by others. They have a nice little pond out front which seems to be a goose magnet so watch where you walk. They are proud of their longevity here, but a few updates would really help. It appears they have a nice little camping store, but it wasn’t open during our overnight stay. If passing through, we’d stop here again.
Made a reservation and arrived in some rain. The assigned site was at a muddy exit, bottom of a hill, and water was in the ground under freeze proof sleeve. The shower facility is old, moldy, and window is taped to keep it closed. The floors were dirty and no soap nor towels for hand washing. Most of the sites in the main location are on top of the hill, those located below have flooding in thunderstorms. The store closes promptly and the staff are not customer focused to assist campers.
No sign for office; when you walk in the huge store the check in desk is in the back. When I suggested maybe putting out a sign that said office I got a snarky, "never been an issue". Hard t believe. The water was down in a hole and my husband had to lay on his stomach to attach the hose. It leaked horribly. The exit was down a steep hill full of potholes. We turned RV around and went out entrance. The traffic was horribly loud until around 11. The wifi was horrible. No covers over the sewer inlets so very bad smell. I can't believe this campground is Good Sam approved! It was very close to the highway which was the only good thing.
Very accommodating staff. We had to drive in after 12:00 a.m. and they left pur welcome letter for us so we knew where to go. There's a pretty creek alongside the sites. Right off the FREEWAY and a busy road but overall it's not bad as far as noise level goes. Clean bathrooms too.
We stayed there this weekend. We ended up getting in late so they gave me verbal instructions on where to park. When we got there, I really wasn't clear on where to go, but a long term resident there was able to help me get to where I needed to go. We have a pretty big rig, and the spot they had us in had plenty of room. Since this is winter time, and we weren't spending much time outside, the location was great from a utilitarian aspect, but if you're looking for a more secluded woods-type setting, I'd make sure they have a spot available for you off the road. The next day, we discovered that we had something broken on our coach, so we checked out the store. They have a great selection of parts, and even had the one we needed. Staff was super helpful and pleasant to deal with.
Stayed one night in late April. Our spot was right along a very noisy road. The bathrooms were a long muddy walk away and they were disgusting . The whole park seems to have long been under construction. We would advise against staying here.
