"This was our first camping trip with the new camper. As soon as we arrived Jeff helped us to our site and guided us into a tricky spot for a newbie. You can tell the owners care about their place and they are attentive to guest needs."

This place was great until they ran out of water. 3 weeks with no rain and the wells were too low to use.July 1st the day they cut water, I tried to get a refund for the month because I was leaving for readily accessible water but they will not. You would have to pull the camper and fill the tank down the road and bring it back to your camp spot or bring buckets back and forth is what they recommend. They will say it’s your fault for not wanting to do that or missing the one email they sent 2 days prior. Owner is very Unprofessional and I’m sure he will find many violations I did as he has over 100 rules, check the website. PS(I had to edit my review to speak the truth cause the owner’s rebuttals to every bad review and the lies he tries to claim as truth to mine) he posts license plates numbers and peoples age. Has no care of privacy for people that pay him. I finished the rest of my time at Elkhorn lake leaving in November. A place where there made it mandatory for a background check. I still have no refund or my deposit back at this place, if you wouldn’t mind this then be his guest. Bad business

This place is run by a couple. The lady is nice, but the man is aggressive and rude. They have a long list of rules on their web site and in a blue printed booklet that you get when you arrive. They also make up rules that aren’t published anywhere, and the rules they do publish aren’t for everyone apparently..((#1)) I was told that I could use the mailbox then two days later I was yelled at for doing so. Told I was committing a federal felony. Nothing in the rules about not using the mailbox.((#2)) We booked for a month after the third week we were told that we were responsible for trimming the grass around the RV every week. Who carries a grass trimmer in their RV? This is one of the made-up rules, there is nothing in the booklet or website about it..((#3)) We had a visitor that we forgot to check-in. The host proceeded to yell at her, telling her that she was trespassing. He then told me in an aggressive threatening way that this was our 2nd strike and the first one was a federal felony. Yes, our guest made a mistake, but that is no excuse for such aggressive rudeness. ((#4)) No parking on the grass is a published rule, but this rule is applied only to some. Two cars with boat trailers were parked on the grass for days with no issues at all. The host actually told them to park there!.((#5)) The park is near the end of a county road that leads to a public boat ramp and picnic area. The speed limit on that road is posted at 35mph, but people regularly go much faster than that. My wife and I nearly got run over while walking our dog along the edge of that road. Overall, the place is adequate, but if you're going to stay here BEWARE !!! ======

We stayed for approximately 10-12 days. Campground clean. Didn't use pool (wasn't open yet), playground, restrooms, or laundry. Woman in office was very nice. Man helped us to our site and from what others are saying, I'm glad we didn't have any further contact with him. To address Mr. Bean's comment / violation about using the mailbox, I asked permission to have mail go out through the office and was told by the woman in the office, I could just put it in the mailbox and raise the flag. I asked where the mailbox was, and was told it was at the end of the driveway. I witnessed several items stored outside of an RV next to us (violation of their policy). I witnessed vehicles parked on grass and not told to remove. I witnessed a guest come in before the office opened, the woman nicely came over and asked them to register, which they did right away. It's a shame that an owner of a business finds that he must be harsh with his customers. He is only shooting himself in the foot! "You don't build a business. You build people, and then people build your business." Zig Ziglar

Very nice campground!! Its quiet, close to the lake and, has all the amenities you could ask for. It's a little on the expensive side tho, especially if you have 2 or more vehicles. They're super strick on just about everything. You get a packet of rules when you check in and they mean business when it comes to the rules. None of the rules really bothered us. We go to bed early and dont play loud music late at night. They have a small play ground for kids. They're super dog friendly which is amazing especially if you have pitbulls or another breed that's usually frowned upon. They have laundry and restrooms/showers you can reserve. There is only 1 washer and dryer so if you have multiple loads of laundry, the laundry mat is the place to go. Most sites come with a nice picnic table and fire ring. During spring and summer the owner Jeff plays music. It's really cool! They also have a dog disk competition to watch on some weekends. That's super fun and cool to watch too. Over all it's a great spot to stop and camp and spend some time. But It's THE most expensive place we've stayed thus far. We've been to 100s of campgrounds over the years. (We travel for work) and we've never had to pay 100 per vehicle before. Plus another 200 a month for my husband's work truck and trailer. That is the only thing that stopped me from giving this 5*s. Over all it was a good stay.
