I use to go here many times with my brother in the late 70s and 80s. We always loved it here. Took my wife here 20 years ago and then we took our dogs up to spread some of my brothers ashes just recently. Still excellent campsites, but sorry to see that they had a forest fire here. Still a beautiful lake and so peaceful at times. The drive here is always great and feels like time has stood still.
A nice place to camp and fish on top of a mountain but the fire has messed up alot of the forest but still a nice place
This is one of the best hiding campground gems!! It is a long drive and the road can kinda be scary but once you get there it's like a private oasis. It ha never been crowded and we went on a holiday weekend. Absolutely love this place. Con's- the road to get there is rough! Pro's- small lake you can take a non-moter boat on, large camp sites, well kept bathrooms, 1, mile nature hike around the lake. 2021 Note: It was hit by Mendocino complex fire so there is a lot of damage currently but still very beautiful.
Lots of fire damage but still beautiful!! I love this lake. It's been more than 5 years and I sure did miss the serenity of this place
Great place to go camping. Letts Lake receives quite a few visitors each year. The California DFW has planted rainbow trout the last few years but it seems that the planting isn't scheduled too far in advance. It can get really windy at night in the campground and the road out to Letts Lake can be covered with snow depending the time of the year. Lastly the road isn't paved for the last 7-8 miles.
