Great campground and visitors center has Great Lewis and Clarke boat display. Campground hosts Gary and Pat are fantastic . Super clean, quiet. Nice lake and lots of birds.
I rated this area so highly because it is clean, quiet, and beautiful. There are no rooms, but you can camp. And the lake has nice soft beaches onto a large lake that shows it's well cared for and has been respected by campers who clean up their own garbage. Showers are hot, toilets are clean, and makes a camping trip for the family comfortable.
Not well maintained. Long grass needed mowing, LOTS OF MOSQUITOS!!, No sign of hosts. Poor signage, no way to check in, just come & go as you please or so it seems. No one answered phone multiple attempts and multiple days. Stayed one night. Beautiful facility with much potential.
As a state campground, this was a nice FHU location. Be careful once you make a reservation. If you have any concerns or problems with your site, you're stuck with it. Our site was very unlevel, and when we called to try changing our site, we were told we couldn't.
If I could give it zero stars that’d be how I would rate our experience over the fourth. The lake is about ten feet low surrounded by a mosquito hatchery. No one had mowed the campground. Out of firewood and mosquitoes that made evening by the fire torture. So close to the Missouri River they could fill it up and return the park to a destination to revisit
This is a hidden gem! Spacious level rv parking with well maintained bathrooms and showers. Don’t miss the cave tour - book ahead as they do sell out! One of the best (but take their description and physical activity warnings seriously).
