Linda's Camping & RV Introduce

🛶 **Introduction / Overview**

Located deep in the heart of Louisiana’s scenic Bayou Country, **Linda's Camping & RV** provides a functional and often budget-friendly option for RV users, particularly those seeking **extended stays** or a base for work in the nearby industrial hubs of Houma and Morgan City. Established around 2012 (with a history dating back to 1983 according to some sources), this park is structured as a no-frills, affordable alternative to larger, more amenity-heavy RV resorts.

The park features approximately 28 sites and caters primarily to **long-term residents and working campers**, offering essential facilities required for comfortable living. The focus is on providing necessary utilities in a simple, quiet country setting. As one long-term resident noted, "The camp ground is clean and all ways mowed the owner and very nice it is a good place to camp all year around the people who camp there stay to there self." The location on Bayou Black Drive immerses visitors in the characteristic flat terrain and waterways of Terrebonne Parish.

However, prospective residents—especially those planning an extended stay—must approach this option with caution. A detailed negative review highlights serious concerns regarding **management practices (eviction procedures, handling of rent), privacy, and safety/harassment issues**. While many campgrounds face differing reviews, the specific details regarding poor management and safety are a critical factor for any Louisiana resident prioritizing security and stability.

🗺️ **Location and Accessibility**

Linda's Camping & RV is strategically situated at **5427 Bayou Black Dr, Gibson, LA 70356, USA**, placing it along the picturesque **Bayou Black** in Terrebonne Parish. This location provides convenient access to the region’s economic and cultural centers.

Access is relatively easy, as the park is located off major routes that connect the communities along the bayou. From the junction of US Highway 90, travelers typically go onto Highway 20, and then onto Highway 182, and finally to Bayou Black Drive. This places the park:

  • Approximately **18 minutes** drive from **Houma**, a major center for the energy and seafood industries.

  • Around **20 minutes** from **Morgan City**, another key industrial and maritime hub.

  • Within a manageable driving distance (about 1.5 hours) for those coming from **New Orleans** or **Baton Rouge**, making it a viable long-term base for contract work in the region.

The site's access roads are generally suited for RVs and trailers, although surfaces are typically **gravel** or **grass/gravel**, fitting the standard for a less-developed, country RV park.

âś… **What is Worth Choosing**

**Linda's Camping & RV** is worth choosing for the highly independent, self-contained Louisiana RV owner whose **absolute priority is affordability and full utility hookups for an extended stay** in the Bayou Black/Houma area. It is a functional option for **working campers** who need a stable, budget-conscious base near their job sites.

However, due to the severe, specific negative feedback regarding **management conflicts, lack of due process, privacy issues, and safety concerns**, potential renters must proceed with extreme caution and ensure they have a clear, written agreement detailing move-out terms, lease length, and guest policies. This campground is a choice made purely on **financial necessity and functional utility**, rather than for a recreational vacation. It is a **bare-bones utility stop** for the working population of the Bayou Country.

Why did you call me Martha?

As summer is quickly approaching, I feel the need to warn any campers looking for a place to park thier RV. I wish I had read the reviews concerning this place. To my regret I didn't. I rented here for 8 months. I was out of town for 2 weeks, as I frequently did, but returned to pay my 9th month rent. As the owner was accepting my payment she advised me to having 2 weeks to move. She said she was selling. But accepting my full months rent. I decided to stay else where's leaving my RV there, as I had checked with Terrebonne Parish, and was advised she was way out of bounds of the parish laws about putting me out that way. Let me mention I lived alone and I am an above knee amputee. Having a Winnebago and a pickup to drive, it wasn't like I could just pickup and go. Being told since she accepted my full months rent, she would have to serve me an eviction. I was gone for another 2 weeks before returning to my camper, to find a very ugly note she had taped to the door of my camper, stating I had plenty time to find me another place, and I needed to go immediately, and I was to take the cat a previous tenate had abandoned. Knowing she would not refund me half my payment, I decided to stay until I thought it was a fair amount of days before I moved. I spoke to other tenates tenates and I was the only one told of having to move. I looked around the area for another lot never hearing anything positive or good about this lady. Being told stories of nightmares other tenates had to deal with in the past, many of how people had been put out when they was paid up. She maybe the cheapest in the area, and I now know why. Your guest will be put through the 3rd degree, and females that are alone there, possibly have to be subject to sexual harassment by the long term renting stinky guy in the back of the campground (he's the campground pet). You will hear of all the other tenates business from the owner. So keep to yourself and don't tell what you don't want your neighbors to know about you. One star is way to much for this place. Have a safe summer & Happy camping
