Lindeman lake is explicit and the view is mesmerizing.... it's only 1.8km one way to the lake but you can go further for greentop as well.....the hike doesn't take long but it's steep and rocky so I would not say that it's easy.....but it is highly recommended especially for beginners.
Beautiful lake, the hike up is only 50mins for beginners and this is a medium rate hike, the way down is about 40mins, take it easy on the knees.
We did backcountry camping here ($5/night/person, pay online beforehand) and it was lovely the first night, quiet and peaceful. A handful of people did come by but they were just day hikers. The second night got really busy (even in the “backcountry”) and we moved spots. Other campers were loud and playing music till 2am and talking loudly. The lake helps sound to travel pretty well anywhere around the circumference of the lake, so just be aware that it won’t really be quiet. The next day, it was quite noisy due to another group flying a quadcopter around the area (even though it’s a no drone zone). Overall, it was a lovely hike and trip, but ridiculously busy on the long weekend. (On the way out, the parking lot was overflowing and cars were parked all along the road leading up to the parking lot). Definitely worth the day hike in my opinion, but probably would not return here to camp again (at least not on a weekend haha!) Other notes: - it’s evident that the wildlife here are accustomed to people and they are quite bold about coming up to people for food, be careful about how food is stored overnight! - there isn’t cell service here at all, make sure to screenshot proof of camp registration/backcountry registration in the event that a park ranger requests to see it. - it’s a rocky hike, converses probably won’t cut it.
Beware!! People are stealing catalytic converters from the cars in the parking lot!! Other than that everything about this trail/hike is amazing. Super bummed about the thievery! I was there August 21st to 22nd 2023.
Best place to visit in fall.
