Lindenwood Campground Introduce

🏞️ **Introduction / Overview**

For North Dakota residents, finding a peaceful yet conveniently located camping spot, especially near a major metropolitan area, can be a challenge. The **Lindenwood Campground** in Fargo defies that challenge. Situated within the larger, beautiful Lindenwood Park, this facility provides a unique and highly-rated **urban camping experience**. It expertly sets a high bar for what local users should expect from a city-managed park, merging the tranquility of mature trees and riverfront views with the ultimate accessibility to the amenities of **Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota**.

Lindenwood is consistently praised for being a well-maintained, older campground that benefits greatly from its mature trees and nicely kept grassy areas. It is an ideal stopover for travelers utilizing nearby I-94, but its quality and features encourage longer stays. Campers, particularly those in RVs and trailers, appreciate the blend of nature—with the scenic **Red River** flowing alongside—and the proximity to cultural sites, shopping, and dining. While some logistical considerations exist, such as varying site leveling needs and shared utility posts, the overall consensus is that Lindenwood provides a friendly, clean, and beautiful environment, making it a premier choice for North Dakotans looking for an accessible getaway.

For the North Dakota resident, the **Lindenwood Campground** is worth choosing as the gold standard for **urban RV camping**. Its well-kept facilities, including clean, hot-water restrooms and dedicated camper-only amenities, ensure a high level of comfort. However, prospective campers must heed the advice from previous visitors: **book early** to secure Loop B (the superior, quieter loop) and **bring plenty of leveling blocks** for the scenic riverfront sites, as some inclines are significant. Lindenwood Campground was our first experience camping at an urban park. This was a beautiful campground and park, and Lindenwood set the bar high. We made reservations well in advance and were able to get a prime spot in Loop B, directly across the Red River. We had a fabulous view of the river and plenty of green space around our trailer. Loop B has electric and water hookups, although the water pressure seemed a little low. The parking pad easily accommodated our 25-foot trailer and truck, although each spot has an extra parking space for vehicles just across the road. The park has a private restroom and shower facility for camping residents only. The washrooms were clean and provided plenty of hot water. The park itself is lovely, with plenty of walking trails, picnic pavillions, and several playgrounds. There is also a bike rental kiosk across from the office. The campground is close to downtown Fargo and Moorehead, so there is plenty to see and do while in the area. Note 1: The campground is close to Hwy 94, and the city was doing road and bridge work during the day (August 2025). This resulted in some muffled noise for Loop B, but may have been louder for Loop A. Note 2: Loop B is definitely better than Loop A as the spots in Loop A are very close together and are located next to the highway with a fence divider. If you are in Loop A, then you might need ear plugs or a sound machine.

Nice place. It's an older campground with mature trees and nicely kept grassy areas. The spots by the river are especially nice. The only few issues I would note are many of the sites are on a fairly steep incline. The front tires of our 30' rig are easily 14" off the ground, and need to go up more to be level. The power poles are shared, and the one for us is about 30' away. Our cable runs 25'. Trip to a store to find an extension. Then, the power cut out when trying to run the AC. Bring a bunch of leveling blocks if you plan to camp by the river.

This is our second year staying here. This park for the most part is great. Beautiful and well kept. Trees are trimmed up high (great for XXL RVs) and neatly kept. Bathrooms and showers are all very clean, but nothing to set soaps or shampoos on in the shower. My only complaint is that the asphalt pads could use some serious care, and although there are signs stating "reserved campers only" after returning several days in a row, the parking spots were taken by cars that had literally set up BBQs, tables, and we're fishing and picnicking there. They were loud, playing music, and being totally intrusive to those of us that paid to be there. There is also no one that monitors this. I feel that this should not be allowed, since I paid to be there, and they didn't and are intruding. Other than that, I totally recommend this park.

Stayed here three nights - I would recommend. The campground is within the City of Fargo Lindenwood Park - right along the Red River. While the A loop has 50 amp power it is directly adjacent to I-94 and the sites are very close together. I recommend the B loop that has 30 amp power with a site as far north as possible which is away from I-94. Enjoyed Fargo - worth the visit.

Nice campground right on the Red River. You may hear noise at night from the highway, trains, and/or airplanes. Bathrooms were clean and showers nice and hot. Be sure to bring extensions for your water and electric hookups as the connections are set back from the sites.
