The six-mile loop here is just about everything you could want in a hike! A small lake, a medium lake, and then the largest freshwater lake in the world of course. Lots of variety in terrain and scenery, plus the fall colors were absolutely at peak mid-October. Don’t skip this one!

Beautiful secluded campground for tents and very small RVs. Site 9 appears to be first come first serve and is a very short walk into the woods with a babbling brook right next to the site. The other spots are almost all waterfront with trails down to the lake.

These trails are some of the least used in all of Pictured Rocks, and they are well worth spending at least a day on. The scenery is top notch and you will be far away from the crowds at the more popular destinations.

We had a very positive experience at Little Beaver Lake Campground. The campground is quiet and peaceful, and the scenery is beautiful. There are only 8 sites and they were all filled the 3 nights we were there. Reservations were required when we went in June of 2023. We were able to easily jump on the trails on the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. We would definitely recommend Little Beaver Lake Campground to anyone looking for a quiet, secluded camping experience. Highlights and things to prepare for (could be pro or con depending on your perspective): -Secluded location -Beautiful scenery -Easy access to well-maintained hiking trails on Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore -No showers -Non-electric sites -Narrow and winding 3 mile access road -No pets allowed -Bicycles are not allowed in most of the park -Firewood is expensive -Weather can change quickly -This cannot be overstated - the mosquitos are ferocious. Spray helps but netting is recommended

Little Beaver Campground was a nice spot a bit off the beaten path. I prefer super remote spots where I can be the only person out there but this wasn't bad. 7 campsites, relatively level and there were pit toilets (that we didn't use). It's a 3 Mile drive in on a gravel road, saw a Black Bear on the way in. There's a small lake by the campground and it's about a 2 mile hike each way to 12 Mile Beach on Lake Superior - worth the hike. If you want to get away from the big campgrounds full of monster rv's this is a good place. No cell service.
