Today was awesome. Great lake to paddle. It's just big enough to give us good space to paddle around. The scenery is one of the most beautiful of the many lakes. Parking is good. Popular for fishing and camping too. The one drawback is there isn't any shoreline to post up other than at the launch ramp which is just gravel. I hope to camp there one day. Not crowded, very peaceful.

The lake itself is beautiful. Wonderful for all types of floating devices. That may be why it was so busy this last weekend with day trippers. I would like to give the campground more stars but the camp host quit leaving the restroom a discusting mess. A worker came out to check it but it wasn't cleaned all weekend Gross! Thank goodness I had my own in my trailer. If I had to rely on the one at the campground, there would have been plenty of FULL MOONS around our campsite. On a good note, the spots are spacious and somewhat private. The stars at night are big and bright and the sunrise is gorgeous.

Small primitive campground where the Deschutes River starts! Mosquitos can be bad, but most spots have shade. The lake can get pretty busy on weekends. This campground is all reservation, you can make those at recreation.gov but you might snag a night first come/first serve during the week.
