Little Naches Campground is situated on Little Naches Rd, Naches, WA 98937, USA. Its location places it firmly within the beautiful and expansive Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest area, offering a true immersion into Washington's renowned wilderness. While providing a sense of seclusion, the campground remains accessible from major routes, making it a manageable drive for many residents across the state, particularly those from the Yakima Valley and surrounding regions.
The drive to Little Naches Campground typically involves traveling on well-maintained roads for the majority of the journey. As you approach the campground, you'll transition onto Little Naches Road, which is a testament to its more remote, natural setting. While specific road conditions can vary with weather and season, the access is generally straightforward for standard vehicles. However, it's always a good practice to check local road conditions, especially during spring thaw or late fall, if you have any concerns.
Accessibility within the campground itself is typical of a smaller, more primitive forest service site. The individual campsites are nestled among trees, and paths to amenities are generally gravel or natural earth. While specific ADA compliance details may not be universally available for every single feature, the overall environment is designed for enjoying the natural setting. Visitors with mobility considerations should be aware of the natural terrain and contact the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest supervisor's office if they have specific accessibility needs or questions about individual site layouts. Its smaller size contributes to its peaceful atmosphere, as fewer people generally means less vehicle traffic within the campground itself, enhancing the quiet enjoyment of the natural surroundings.
Little Naches Campground provides the essential services needed for a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience, focusing on preserving its rustic charm. Here’s an overview:
- Campsites: The campground offers a limited number of sites, contributing to its quiet and uncrowded atmosphere. These sites are designed for both tent camping and smaller RVs/trailers, though specific lengths should always be verified. Many sites offer direct access to or views of the Naches River, a highly sought-after feature.
- Fire Rings and Picnic Tables: Each campsite is equipped with a fire ring, perfect for campfires (check for any current fire restrictions before lighting) and outdoor cooking, along with a picnic table for dining al fresco.
- Restroom Facilities: The campground provides basic restroom facilities. These are typically vault toilets (non-flush) in more primitive national forest campgrounds, designed to be environmentally friendly. While specific customer reviews on the condition of restrooms were not provided, these facilities are generally maintained by the forest service. It's always a good idea to bring your own hand sanitizer and toilet paper, as a courtesy and for preparedness.
- Water Source: Information on potable water sources at Little Naches Campground is not explicitly detailed in publicly available reviews. In many national forest campgrounds of this nature, water may be available via hand pumps, or visitors might be advised to bring their own supply or be prepared to filter/treat water from natural sources. It's advisable to check with the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest for the most current water availability and recommendations before your trip.
- Small and Quiet Atmosphere: A key "service," or rather a defining characteristic, is the campground's small size. This inherently limits the number of campers, fostering a tranquil and less crowded environment, which is a major draw for many who seek peace in nature.
Little Naches Campground distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that make it a compelling choice for outdoor enthusiasts in Washington:
- Riverside Serenity: One of the most significant highlights is its location directly along the Naches River. Many campsites offer direct river access or stunning views, providing the soothing sounds of flowing water and opportunities for fishing, wading, or simply relaxing by the banks. As one happy camper noted, "We had a spot right along the river. It was a small campground so not many people were there which was nice." This direct connection to the river enhances the natural experience significantly.
- Intimate and Uncrowded Setting: Unlike larger, more bustling campgrounds, Little Naches is known for its smaller size. This results in fewer people and a more private, quiet atmosphere. For those who prioritize tranquility and a genuine escape from urban noise, this feature is invaluable. It allows for a deeper connection with nature without the distractions of a crowded environment.
- Ideal for Peaceful Relaxation: The serene ambiance makes Little Naches perfect for activities centered around relaxation – reading, birdwatching, nature photography, or simply unwinding. It's an excellent spot for contemplative moments or quiet family time.
- Gateway to Outdoor Adventures: While the campground itself offers a peaceful base, its location in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest provides access to a vast array of outdoor activities. Nearby, you can find opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, fishing in various streams and lakes, and exploring the expansive forest lands. The region is known for its diverse trails and scenic beauty, making it a hub for adventurers.
- Wildlife Viewing: The natural setting along the river makes Little Naches a potential spot for observing local wildlife. Keep an eye out for birds, deer, and other forest creatures that frequent the area.
- Rustic Charm: The campground retains a natural, undeveloped feel, appealing to campers who prefer a more traditional and rustic experience over highly developed facilities. This contributes to its authentic outdoor appeal.

Fly high and far grandma and pops ... Till next time. Rest in peace! WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK! RIP Jimmy and Mary 😍
We camped for our first time at Little Naches and really enjoyed it. We had a spot right along the river. It was a small campground so not many people were there which was nice.
Easy to find immediately off highway 410. Pay to use campground. Reservable sites. Single and group sites. Gravel road and camp site trailer pull ins. Old style Men's and Women's separate toilets. Garbage service via dumpster. Picnic tables and grated fire rings at each site. Water available via frost free hydrant. Close to many outdoor activities.
Another fun weekend camping in the books! We stayed at Little Naches Campgrounds just outside of Yakima in the Wenatchee National Forest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’re still not sure how we landed such an incredible campsite so late in the season but we made sure to enjoy every minute of it. For those who haven’t been to Little Naches Campgrounds, here’s a great booking tip — campsites 3 and 4 are literally on the river, making for a very awesome experience and peaceful stay. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Each campground comes equipped with a great picnic table, fire pit and grill that sits over the fire pit. There are plenty of trees for hanging hammocks and space for outdoor games. There’s a lot of tree coverage, which helps things stay dry when it rains. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’re interested in booking Little Naches or learning more about the campground, we recommend downloading the Recreation.GOV app (currently only available for iPhone owners) and searching for Little Naches Campgrounds. The app has all the info about the campsite and even allows you to book conveniently through the app. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #PNWonderland #Washington #PNW #LittleNaches #Naches #Nature #Summer #Adventure #Landscape #Wanderlust #Outdoors #NatureLovers #Camping #GetOutside #LifeOfAdventure #ExploreMore #GoExplore #PacificNorthwest #PNW #UpperLeftUSA #WA #PNWisBeautiful #WanderWashington #ExploreWashington #PNWCollective #BeInspired #Yakima
This place is so adorable and clean! I absolutely love staying here! It’s so easy to get to hiking spots, and although you’re not too far from any cities, you still feel away from it all.
