Little Pan Staging Area Introduce
Little Pan Staging Area is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a peaceful yet convenient camping spot in the vicinity of New River, Arizona. Part of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, this staging area offers a unique blend of accessibility and rugged wilderness, making it an ideal destination for RVers, off-road vehicle enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike.
Located on Table Mesa Road, Little Pan Staging Area provides ample space for approximately 10 recreational vehicles. The site features basic amenities such as picnic tables and pit toilets, though visitors are encouraged to bring their own toilet paper. Despite the simplicity of its facilities, the location's remote nature and stunning surroundings make it a favorite among those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life.
The area is renowned for its miles of washboard and rutted dirt roads, which provide challenging terrain for off-road vehicles. While these roads require careful driving, they are manageable for vehicles equipped for such conditions. Little Pan Staging Area also boasts well-maintained vault toilets, a notable feature that enhances the camping experience.
One of the standout features of this site is its full T-Mobile LTE signal and partial coverage from Sprint and AT&T. This connectivity makes it easier for visitors to stay in touch or navigate the area without losing service. While Verizon coverage was not tested, the area's remote location ensures that even with limited cell service, you're still connected enough to feel safe and informed.
Campers and hikers will appreciate the solitude and natural beauty of Little Pan Staging Area. The crushed rock coating in the pit area prevents mud, making it a cleaner and more comfortable experience for visitors. Additionally, the trails are perfect for exploring the surrounding landscape, offering opportunities to encounter wildlife and enjoy breathtaking views.
Customer feedback highlights both the pros and cons of camping at Little Pan Staging Area. Many visitors praise its remote location, challenging terrain, and well-maintained facilities. One camper noted, "Several miles of washboard and rutted dirt road. Take it slow, no problem." Another added, "Wonderful BLM land with off-road trails. A great place to camp and relax." The availability of cell service is also a significant plus for those who need to stay connected.
However, some visitors have pointed out the presence of litter along the trails and parking areas. As one reviewer emphasized, "Pack it in, pack it out. Don't you want your grand children to be able to come here and enjoy riding too?" This sentiment reflects the importance of responsible tourism and maintaining the integrity of public lands for future generations.
Little Pan Staging Area is a testament to the beauty and diversity of Arizona's landscape. Whether you're an off-road vehicle enthusiast, a camper, or simply someone looking to connect with nature, this staging area offers a unique and memorable experience. Camping at Little Pan. Several miles of washboard and rutted dirt road. Take it slow, no problem. Space for about 10 RV’s. Some picnic tables. Pit toilets are a plus, but as stated by others, bring your own TP. Shots can be heard in the distance at all times of the day. Better spot than Table Mesa
Wonderful BLM land with off road trails. A great place to camp and relax. No worries about mud in the pit area as it is coated in crushed rock. There are even well kept vault toilets here. Another pro is full signal T-Mobile LTE, even without a band 12 capable phone. Sprint and AT&T also work here. I did not test Verizon. (I am sure it works though.) There is a fair amount of litter along the sides of the trails and near the parking areas. Shame on anyone who would discard refuse here. Pack it in, pack it out. Don't you want your grand children to be able to come here and enjoy riding too? I have no children, but we all share these public lands. Let's do everything we can to keep it that way.
Entrance to lots of outdoor fun. Table Mesa is awesome place for shooting, and offroad vehicles. If you don't have a good 4wd stay off the TV trails. Clean up after you shoot please. Plenty of trails for stock vehicles with lots of scenery.
Nice area to use as a base for off-roading. There are vault toilets thankfully. Usually out of toilet paper so make sure to bring some with you. There is a nice flat space for parking and a few picnic tables, no shade. Pretty popular area. Fee of charge. Can use for day use or overnight. There is a corral area for beginning riders to practice.
First time there and loved every minute. Great trails for easy all they way to highly technical. Try the south loop and do crapshoot hill if your not afraid. Lol. PS also go up to black canyon city and go to the pie box, best pie ever!!!
Beautiful and quiet but not a great place for a tent.
