Started at Deer Springs Trailhead. Camped overnight here. Campsites adequate. Running water along the way and here in the meadow (10-2024). Outhouses beat digging a hole.
Gorgeous campground. Plenty of ice cold flowing water for filtering as of our visit in June. OMG the flies in the out house! 😳. Best in the early morning.
Fantastic Sites, stayed at Thunder View...spectacular sunset. Primitive camp, pack it in, pack it out...no water (9-2016)...toilet is not worth entering. Spring water is available on Marion entry trails, but will take some work to pool and filter. Idyllwild side is dry.
Primitive campground, very clean sites. Gorgeous place to stay overnight. Water creek is still running 0.5mile down from Little round valley (Marion trail) .
Many campgrounds which are clean and flat. No water nearby though. The hike up to the peak is definitely challenging but worth it.
