Little Stony Campground Introduce
Little Stony Campground, located in Stonyford, CA 95979, offers a secluded camping experience within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. Notably, this campground has undergone name changes, previously known as Digger Pine Campground and then Gray Pine Campground.
Based on customer reviews, Little Stony Campground is characterized by its secluded nature and suitability for off-highway vehicle (OHV) activities. The campground is accessible via a rough, unpaved road for the last three miles, which may pose challenges for larger vehicles, particularly RVs exceeding 25 feet. Visitors should be prepared for a bumpy ride and consider the suitability of their vehicle.
The campground is described as having limited shade and fewer hiking trails, making it more appealing to those who enjoy OHV activities. However, it offers a peaceful environment away from highways, and visitors can enjoy exploring the creek located behind the campground. The presence of trees, as indicated by a 2017 Forest Service map, suggests some natural surroundings, though shade may still be limited.
Key features and considerations for Little Stony Campground include:
- Secluded and quiet environment.
- Suitable for OHV activities.
- Rough, unpaved road access, especially the last 3 miles.
- Limited shade.
- Creek access for exploration.
- Campground more geared towards OHV use rather than hiking.
For local users seeking a secluded camping experience with opportunities for OHV activities, Little Stony Campground offers a potential destination. However, visitors should be aware of the challenging road conditions and limited shade. It is recommended to check local resources or contact relevant authorities for the most up-to-date information regarding road conditions, campground accessibility, and any specific regulations, particularly for OHV use.

Customer Reviews
It used to be Digger Pine Campground, but the name was changed to Gray Pine, then Little Stony. Not a whole lot of shade here. Picture on FS's 2017 motor vehicle map of Stonyford area shows trees here.
Great little, secluded campground. Took our 25ft RV there and the last 3 miles on the unpaved road was really bumpy. Don’t recommend if you have a bigger vehicle. Campground is designed for those with OHVs since there’s not a lot of shade or hiking trails. But we had fun exploring the creek behind the campground and being away from highways.
Great place to camp. No hook ups. Had access to OH V trails, but it was one HUGE hill climb, fun but i would camp closer to more trail options. The scenery was not as much forest as brush land.
Nice little campground. Springtime is much better than summer, creek runs pretty good then. Bring some cover not a lot of shade.
Small campground mostly tent sites no water and one stinky bathroom not rv or big trailer recommended
