Pros: Very small/intimate, quiet, lakeshore sites offer the best privacy, bathrooms have flush toilets Cons: Farther drive to get to destinations— but it’s worth it! No shower or laundry facilities — could be an issue for some. Our 5 day stay at Lizard Creek was so delightful! Our campsite was very private; couldn’t see it from the road, everyone camping there was quiet and respectful, it felt like you had the place to yourself. The views are gorgeous. Listening to the water hit the shore is so soothing. Bears tend to visit the campground every day but they aren’t a bother. Follow all the rules for food storage and campsite cleanliness! We spent a few days camping in Yellowstone at Canyon Village where you are stacked like cordwood with zero privacy, having to listen to generators running, dogs barking, kids screaming/crying. It sucked! We cannot wait to camp at Lizard Creek again someday!

This is a National Park Service Campground so is very basic and lots of rules to protect the environment. Located in the Grand Tetons it's a wonderful place to camp and see Yellowstone as well as the Grand Tetons!

Substantially north of most of the fanfare of the Tetons this off the beaten path campground provides a much more rustic setting. There are no showers on site no laundry and the bathroom. Cleanliness leaves a little bit to be desired. However, seeing wildlife is your thing, we did have a bear roaming the campground when I was there, and there were plenty of birds and other creatures to enjoy.

We stayed at site 10. The bear box was quite large and the fire pit was in great working condition. The restrooms have flush toilets and running water sinks - they were cleaned regularly and well stocked. There is an inlet to Jackson Lake for fishing/paddle boats at the campground. The closest camp stores are in Colter Bay (S) and the Flagg Ranch (N). Yellowstone NP and Jackson, WY are each about an hour away. Everything in Jackson is pricey. We went the third week in June and it got down into the 20s at night and snowed - be sure to check the weather and bring appropriate clothing! I absolutely plan on coming back sometime in the future!!

Perfect location for visiting the quieter end of the park. The campsite was lovely and the camp hosts were the kindest I've yet encountered! It was a lovely stay. Water and restrooms well placed throughout camp. We were in site 18 and loved it. Only downside was that it didn't have much privacy from site 17 and parking was a bit tight in our van. Next time I'd choose site 15. That being said, the fire ring and tent site were placed nicely to give the most privacy possible. Easy walk down to the lake, with a big step off of a social trial to get down to it. Absolutely beautiful if your mobility is pretty good! Even had cell signal in some places.
