LMO Retreat RV park and Campground

For starters Mari(owner) and her family were the friendliest camp owners I have ever dealt with. They make you feel like a part of their family. I was there 10 months, In that time the camp has come a very long way. It is new and she is constantly working to better the place. The spots were out of level when I first got there but she has had the spots and area worked on multiple time and continues to better everything. The walking trails are great my dog loved it. Bathhouse is super clean and shower is great. The laundry was great aswell and FREE!! If I am ever back in the area for work I will go back no questions asked!

Love this place so much! It's brand new and steadily evolving! The owner Mari is such a cool person. She's attentive and invested in her campground. She welcomes feedback and enjoys suggestions from her guests. A suggestion box was even installed but later stolen (people are weird)! Bathrooms are kept impeccably clean as well as the laundry area. Our family truly enjoys the time we spend at LMO! Can't wait til next time!

We traveled from Florida my husband and I enjoyed staying at LMO! The owner Mari is so nice, accommodating and helpful! Had issues with leveling because we changed locations no fault of Mari but once she provided boards we were good. Also recommended a RV rental that set up an RV so our friends could join us. This will be our spot when we visit Southern Pines going forward!

Very friendly owners, very nice bathroom and laundry room. Small and private with great personality! Would return again if in the area. 😊

Pros: *Nice and responsive owner who is brand new to the campground business (campground is not quite a year old). It is attractive, not trashy, and the office building looks good. There is a very nice and clean, handicapped-friendly bathroom and shower. *The fellow campers were all very respectful of others when it comes to keeping their dogs leashed and keeping noise levels down. Overall, it's very quiet there both day and night. *Very close (13 min drive) to a very nice park for walking, fishing, and paddling (Hinson Lake). There is a short, sandy path and a wooded path through the woods to walk your dog, but be careful because there are two stray dogs that roam through the property regularly. Cons: *Sites are unleveled gravel surrounded by a lot of sand that runs into your site when it rains (make sure bring lots of blocks for leveling). Water hookup is too narrow and hard to get your hand down in there. There is only one washer and dryer, and when the campground was full (15 spots), it was nearly impossible to get a load of laundry done (however, there is no charge to do laundry). *There is a dirt road that divides the campground from an ATV park of some sort. It wasn't every day, but during our approx 47 day stay, there were several days in which ATV's of different kinds were running for hours at a time and they were very loud. *Rates are not in writing and are apparently subject to change without notice. We were told before our arrival that one month's stay would be $700 (including everything) and we brought cash as preferred by the owner. When we arrived on 2/18, our stay was prorated through the end of the month, and we were asked to pay $450. Then, on 3/1, we were asked to pay $800 for another month even though we were never made aware of the $100 rate increase. We felt that 2/18 - 2/29 (11 day stay) for $450 was much higher than it should've been, and the rate increase for the following month without notice was not appreciated or expected. If you chose to stay here, be sure to confirm the rates and condition of the campground first (to see if any site improvements were made).

The wife and I came down to lmo in February and have stayed 3 months and had a great time. Mari was very hospitable and the showers/laundry were cleaned daily. She has an excellent location for the racetrack and town. Would definitely save her in my phone for a future visit.

Great campground!!! Prices are great, management is super friendly. Stayed there in a tent for the Rockingham race! Track right down the street. It was perfect. Bathrooms were clean. Looking forward to going back for the next race!
