Lodge at Mt. Mitchell

Honestly, this review has been a long time coming, but here it goes. I should have written this years ago but life happens, and I had a friend ask me about this trip recently and it jogged my memory. Back in 2020 I stayed in this lodge with my girlfriend (now wife) and it was fantastic. The view is top notch, the rooms were nice. I loved it. But - the day before we were supposed to drive back home to Florida we hit a deer with my car and my car was not drivable. The owners of the lodge were very accommodating allowing us to stay an extra few days with basically no notice. They went above and beyond what you would expect from even a friend to do for us, complete strangers. They let us borrow their car to get groceries. They let us stay an extra day free - and I had to make them let me pay them for the ones we needed after that! I'd recommend this lodge and their cabins to every single person that plans to visit this area. You won't regret it.

Cozy stay at Albert Lodge on Mount Mitchell! Loved the serene location and comfortable accommodations. Tip for future visitors: bring groceries as there are no nearby options. Suggestion for the owner: consider adding a small in-house shop with essentials like snacks, drinks, and toiletries - it would be a huge plus! Otherwise, perfect retreat! Will definitely return.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. We stayed for two nights to explore Mount Mitchell and the surrounding area. Our room was clean and had all the necessities, including heat in the bathroom! We loved the view from the property and the fact that the property was ours to enjoy during our stay. The only consideration I might mention is that this area seems pretty remote, so plan for a lot of driving to get anywhere and plan Accordingly as resources like gas, groceries, etc are not plentiful in the immediate area. Aside from that, alberts gets 5 stars and makes the perfect place if you want to relax and enjoy the peaceful side of the NC mountains.

We really enjoyed it! It's very 70's style, but very clean. Even the top of the shower cross bar was freshly cleaned. The service was great. We had a nice little porch with a pretty view for morning coffee and let the kids run and play in the field. There aren't many options for food nearby, so plan accordingly. Take some food and cook, or plan to drive about 25 minutes to Burnsville.

After reading the reviews, the room was as I expected..the room was dated, but really clean. The woman (owner?) Was so friendly & kind. Area was spectacular! We would definitely come back. It was a good value.
