A wonderful tucked away campsite with a creek that runs through. Listening to the running water was so peaceful. We were able to park our 28 foot trailer. It was tight, but manageable. Plenty of trees to put up a hammock or swing. Josh is the camp host and takes great care of the site. He's great to work with, courteous and very helpful.
Definitely off the beaten path for campgrounds. Good spot and "is first come first serve" - so it fills up fast and you can't reserve online. It is usually quiet and has a little stream close by with LOTS of tree cover. If you can maneuver a bumper pull trailer REALLY well, its a good spot for that too. Restrooms are minimal with only toilet - nonflushing - outhouse style. Firepit is good size for small family/group. I pulled a 26' trailer and backed it into the spot. Saw a few deer and squirrels. Will be going back!
Josh is an amazing campground host. He does more to keep the camp presentable than any other host I have seen. He was frequently cutting down weeds in the campsites. He made sure to pay us a visit and get to know us. Bathrooms were the cleanest I have seen in a long time. After the campground was full he posted a sign on the gate to help reduce traffic. Over all he is a 10+ in my book.
Josh, the host kept the campground clean. VERY nice to camp there, we stayed a week. grandkids could play and the bathrooms did NOT stink. very very nice. glad to find this gem in the my favorite canyon.
This is a nice campground. I stayed here in early September 2020 and again the night before it closed on 30 September. Rusty was the first to engage me. He wanted to make sure I was happy with my little site #8. There was another available by the creek. I told him I only needed a small site, let a family have the other. The second time I stayed in campsite #1. A friend knew where I was staying, but due to no phone service in the canyon, nobody would know which direction I was going each day. Tina was very willing to watch out for me. I took off on the gravel road to the the split going to Logan Peak or to Ephraim's grave. It was good to know if I ran into trouble, Tina would take action to locate me. There was one family, that I was told used the campground a lot, whose children were noisy the first night they were there. The children like to run toy trucks down the hill and scream themselves (they were riding scooters). But the following days and evenings they were much quieter. There was plenty of toilet paper. I was shocked how much the foliage changed in 3 weeks. The trees were just starting to turn yellow. When I went back, leaves covered the ground. The trees along the road going from the highway to the campground. were in different stages of fall colors. The week before I was in the area, when the colors were brilliant, but smoke from the fires in California ruined any quality pictures. I learned after Labor Day is quieter there, as there are few people who used the campground after Labor Day.
