Nestled in the heart of Koochiching County, just a stone's throw from the Canadian border and the expansive beauty of Voyageurs National Park, the Lofgren Memorial Park Campground in Littlefork, MN, stands out as a highly recommended destination for local campers. It's not just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent; it’s an exceptionally well-maintained city park that beautifully blends convenient amenities with a quiet, scenic riverfront setting. The campground is situated along the peaceful Littlefork River, offering a serene, nature-filled escape while still being located conveniently within the Littlefork city limits.
Lofgren Memorial Park Campground is widely praised by visitors for being clean, cozy, and offering a robust selection of recreation options that go far beyond the basics of a typical municipal park. It serves as an ideal base camp for exploring the larger attractions of Northern Minnesota, including Rainy Lake and the Big Fork River Water Trail. 🗺️ Location and Accessibility: A Convenient Northwoods Stop
Lofgren Memorial Park Campground benefits from a unique location: it provides a tranquil river setting while remaining highly accessible via municipal roads. The official address is 413 4th Ave, Littlefork, MN 56653, USA. This places the campground right at the end of Fourth Avenue, nestled against the riverbank. Its position within the City of Littlefork means easy access to local shops, gas stations, and services, a significant convenience for RV and tent campers restocking supplies.
The campground is conveniently situated to serve as a perfect stop for travelers along Highway 53, or those venturing toward International Falls and the gateway communities to Voyageurs National Park. The ease of navigation—being located in a small town rather than deep within a state forest—makes check-in simple. Lofgren Memorial Park Campground is an amazing city park. It's very cozy, especially in the back section. Water and electric, I believe, at most sites. RV dump station available. Dumpster available. Bath houses and toilets. Canoes are available to rent. There is a small river that goes through the campground. The river current is slow. Also, firewood for sale. Picnic tables and fire ring at every site. Volleyball court, tennis court, and basketball court available. Two large pavillons are available for group gatherings. There is also a frisbee golf course that is well grooomed. Tent sites and RV sites. The RV sites are easy to back in. There are a few pull through sites up front. Everything here is neat and well maintained. We highly recommend this place if you are passing through the area. Daily, weekly, and monthly rates are available. The hosts are very friendly people.
My family and I stayed here for just one night and wish we could have stayed longer. This place has walking trails, a place you can play Frisbee golf, a basketball court that had basketballs you can use already there so my kids loved that. We didn't have the proper hookup for the electric, but the kind people that run the site let us borrow their adapter for free which saved our night. Thank you so much for the help and we love y'all.
What a gem! We stayed here for a couple nights while visiting the National Park (about 25 mins away) and it was fantastic. It was so well taken care of and you can tell the caretaker truly cares about the property. On the reservation paper on the site, she even decorated little dots on the ends of each letter, which told me she cares about the details and finds joy in her work. The bathrooms/showers were extremely clean, too. There was also a pit toilet in the middle of the campground and that was the CLEANEST pit toilet I’ve ever seen. No truly smell at all either, and that’s just.. amazing. We camp a lot so we see our fair share of vault toilets and that one was by far the very best. Each site had water, electric, and its own trash can, too. Plus a very nice picnic table and fire ring. It’s nestled in a small town and was very quiet. And the price felt like a steal! Honestly what more could you ask for?? 10 out of 5 stars!
I was just recommending this cute little campground to a coworker and I thought I had left a review. Whoops. Stayed here for about four days back in August of 2023 and plan on staying here again! Everything was great! Friendly caretakers on site, clean restrooms and showers with great water pressure, disc golf, and short walk into town for a little grocery store.
Highly recommended. Clean, well maintained sites and facilities. Worked out perfectly for a nice 4 day weekend. Will return. Bonus disc golf course!
