Loganville Campground Introduce
Welcome to Loganville Campground, a hidden gem located in the picturesque Sierra City, California. Nestled among towering pine trees, this campground offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're pitching a tent or parking your RV, Loganville Campground provides a rustic yet comfortable experience surrounded by the beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
The campground features spacious and clean campsites, each equipped with bear lockers, picnic tables, and fire pits. While the sites are close together, the tall trees and lack of underbrush create a unique open-air atmosphere. Potable water and clean pit toilets are available for your convenience, ensuring a hassle-free stay.
One of the standout features of Loganville Campground is its proximity to the North Yuba River. A scenic switchback trail leads you down to the river, where you can enjoy the soothing sounds of rushing water and stunning views. Although the water is too cold for swimming in late June, it's a perfect spot to relax and soak in the natural beauty.
While the campground is secluded and offers a sense of privacy, it's just two miles from Sierra City, making it easy to access amenities if needed. The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) also passes through the area, so you might encounter backpackers exploring this iconic route.
Be prepared for some challenges, such as the occasional swarm of gnats, especially near the river. However, with a bit of bug spray and citronella, you can still enjoy your stay. The access road to the campground is a bit rough, but most vehicles can navigate it with care.

Customer Reviews
Loganville campground was pretty spacious, clean. There's no real privacy between campsites, as they are all underneath very tall pine trees and there's no underbrush, but my brother and I were the only ones using the campground during the week. We were very happy with how secluded it was, away from the road, and you could hear the river rushing by down below. There is potable water and the outhouse was very clean and had plenty of toilet paper. The door to it was a little off-line, so it's a little bit hard to open as it was scraping the concrete pad. The only issue we had was with the 5 million giant gnat-things that swarmed us, and even swarmed our cars, even before we got out. We used some citronella sticks, and lots of bug spray and it worked pretty well, but these guys were relentless. It's not particular to this campground- every campground that we stopped at along Highway 49 had swarms of them. Don't know if it was because it was near the river or just that time of year, but....yikes. Besides that, great campground. Also there was a nice switchback trail down to the river which was very pretty next to our number 13 campsite The road is a little bit rough, some deep ruts and rocks, but I made it OK in my Corolla.
We booked site #9 which is in the upper loop. We arrived on a Thursday night and no one else up there and there were just a handful of people at the lower loop. Upper loop is closer to the road but not really close like Union Flat. Nice shady sites, all with bear lockers, picnic tables, and fire pits. Primitive but clean pit toilets. Site #9 has a nice flat round spot up in the back for a tent and just forest behind it. We did end up leaving after the first night because we use a tent for the back of our pickup truck and site #9 is the only one that isn't flat! Because no one else was there, we parked overnight at a neighboring site because it was flat and left the next morning to find a first come, first serve spot at a different campground (we did). The coolest thing about this site is that you can walk down a steep hill (with a switchback trail) to the North Yuba River. Absolutely stunning! We visited in late June and it was great to hang out in our bathing suits but way way too cold to swim. It looked so inviting too! We are used to swimming in colder water and this was just too much for us. But nice wooded campsite and just 2 miles from Sierra City (PCT cuts through and you'll see backpackers).
Very nice campground, tent only. River is very close. Multiple trails nearby.
