London Primitive Trailside Camp Area is praised for its well-laid-out facilities and thoughtful amenities. The site features two elevated pads, three ground pads, and a hammock area, providing various options for campers. The campground's location is also convenient, being near a Family Dollar and various dining options. This accessibility allows campers to easily resupply or enjoy a meal without straying far from the trail.
Guests are advised to read the rules and check in before setting up camp to avoid any inconvenience, especially regarding bathroom access codes. Super nice site! 2 elevated pads, 3 ground pads, a hammock area, water, separate warm water for the outdoor 'shower' (sprayer and it works) and full toilets. It is also near a Family Dollar as well as places to eat.
This place is laid on nice. If every trailhead had one of these (or one every 60 miles or so), I would spend more time on the trail and pack less gear for sustainment. Please read the rules and check in before you set up. It'll save you a lot of heartache at night for when you need the code to the bathroom. About the shower point... Read the instructions. While I figured it out easy enough, you may not. Also, the shower pump handle broke while I was using it. Let me reiterate that I did not break the shower pump. The handle that was already bent had finally given up the ghost. It just happened to be while I was using it. I'll be a sport and throw $20 in the donation box. This is out of respect and appreciation for the place and not out of guilt. I'm sorry about the shower pump. Okay?
Great resting spot for bikers. Nice benches plus covered seating area. Good water supply and nice clean bathroom. Very nice tenting area under shade trees. Close to town. Thank you Friends of Madison County trails, we'll done.
Wonderful small campground right on the bike trail. Large shelter, real restrooms, water. Wood platforms for your tent. Call the police dept to let them know you are camping. There is a lot of light at night, but that also makes it feel very safe.
Very conveniently placed along the bike trail . Electricity, water and the restroom make it seem very unprimative to be honest which is not a bad thing at all. The building had alot of solar power and seemed to be self sufficient thus far which I thought was pretty awesome to see. My first stop on a very long journey from ohio to Colorado. I set up just as a thunderstorm rolled in. The stop was quite a blessing. Located within the limits of London ohio which has a sunnco gas station and dinner within a short ten min walk. Wish I had more time to check the area out. Thank you again for the hospitality.
Not a quiet place until after 10 PM. But absolutely lovely place to bikepack to for camping
We often stop here while biking sections of the Ohio to Erie trail. Nice shelter area, water and clean restroom.
