A great place to camp as a solo female traveler. I felt very comfortable there watching kids fish and play that we're camping there as well. The creek sounds are the absolute BEST to fall asleep to, and the hosts are all around top notch folks! If ya haven't been, give Long Creek Haven a try. I loved it there so much I bought a place right down the road!
Long Creek Haven is a great place to stop. The hosts Kim and Rob are very welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay here and look forward to coming back again.
If you're looking for a campsite that is not completely crowded like many commercial camp grounds are, book a stay with Rob and Kim at Long Creek Haven in Del Rio, Tennessee. There are many sites right on the creek, which runs year-round, and is a heavenly sound to fall asleep to when the weather is nice enough to leave the windows open! This spot is 8 miles from Newport where all your shopping can be done, and is within an hour's drive to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with all the tourist attractions and delights if that suits your fancy. If quiet hikes and out of the way waterfalls are more your style there is so much of that in the local area within a half hour to 45 minutes from this place that you could spend a month here and not see it all. The goats will give you info on all the places and let you know which ones are accessible by car without 4wd if needed. Hot springs, North Carolina, is about a 20 minutes drive down the road and is a quaint little town which is fun to visit and have a meal at one of the local eateries. If you've been on the road a while and you need a good hot shower, check out the bath house here! You won't be disappointed.
A glorious spot right by the creek. Schoolies, RVs, tents... Bring em all! Rob and Kim are fantastic hosts!!!
A little piece of paradise. Such a serene and relaxing place to visit between destinations. Hot showers, warm people, and spectacular views with peaceful energy abounds. This will not just be a place for us to stop by for a rest between destinations, but the destination itself! Thank you Rob and Kim for creating this beautiful haven!
I enjoyed my stay at Long Creek Haven because of its simplicity and peacefulness. It's not crowded or overly commercialized, and the price was good. The best part was being able to camp next to the stream. The owner, Kim was very kind and helpful. My partner and I were "car camping" so we didn't need much. The campground is still new and a work in progress, so maybe in the coming years there could be more designated tent sites with fire rings and picnic tables. Of course, it's possible they may have had more tent sites before Helene hit...I didn't ask. It's a great place to stay for those that prefer a peaceful camping experience over a campsite that crowds out nature by overdeveloping.
Absolute wonderful hostess. Beautiful spot on the water.
