Absolutely beautiful weather, even when it was raining it was nice to be outside. Sooo close to so many hikes and waterfalls. Water was a crisp 55 degrees and worth every second of experience. The camp has senior pricing but you do have to reserve a year in advance!!
Enjoyed the campground. We weren't big fans of the bathrooms. They were below the standard we have come to expect from national park campgrounds. Lots of bugs indoors, even for a campground. The tent site itself was really nice. Good size and spacing, but the neighbors could be heard pretty easily. Not a big deal for us, as we were the last to go to sleep as usual, but we made an active effort to be quiet more so that we've usually needed to in a national park. At least the wet terrain allowed for a nice, big fire!
Well kept campground with enough space between sites to feel like you have your own spot. They have picnic tables and fire grates. Toilets only. No showers. No electric hook up. Right on the river. Beautiful!
Great spot to take our 2 and 3 year olds. One thing to note, the tent pads are different sizes. For example, C33 appears to be 8x8, but our tent is 9x12. So we had to put our tent next to our tent pad. Also loops G and H don't have bear lockers. Will definitely come again.
This is a nice campground, though it doesn't have showers or electric hookups. It's great for tent camping and has restrooms with running water and flush toilets. It's in a beautiful forest setting east of Paradise. Park rangers do nice little nature programs in the ampitheater, and firewood is available for purchase from a vendor who drives through the campsite loops twice each evening. It was $7/bundle in July 2018.
