Customer Reviews
We always enjoy staying at Stanton Camp. The people are great and the activities are fun. Take your time on the dirt road coming in, and be sure to bring extra sewer hose if you're RV camping. They do have limited spares to loan out, but the connections are toward the front of the sites- just something to be aware of. The sites are plenty big to park next to the RV even if you have to set up a little forward to reach the hook-up.
Gone a few times, usually on group digs. You always get a little gold. Nice RV area and group activities during GPAA digs. You learn dry washing and wet sluicing. Founded on an historic AZ mining town.
Numerous historic buildings here include old hotel, theater, stage coach stop/saloon/office. Petroglyphs nearby and crested saguaros. There seemed to be numerous open camp sites even in early spring.
We enjoyed our stay again in Stanton this summer but didn't get to stay as long as we wanted. John and Nannette are great friendly helpful camp hosts. Thanks!
At old ghost town of Stanton AZ. RV park for members of Lost Duchman Mine Association. All the buildings are open. A real piece of 1800 history.
Great desert camping spot with access to gold claims for prospecting fun. The sites are well located with all levels from dry camping to full hook ups. Everyone is friendly and the staff and volunteers are awesome. You can be as social as you want with weekly activities and club events or just play in the dirt looking for gold. I have met many new friends and prospecting partners at LDMA Stanton and look forward to returning next fall.
I retired this year and so we chose to spend the winter here. Best thing we could do. Prospecting for five months and all the activities kept me so busy I could not be bored. You choose how much you want to do but the people will make you want to partake. Our new family and we are already booked for next year. Oh did I mention the price? We are members so $15 a night and full hookups was very affordable. That included the UNMETERED electricity.
Kathy & Carl make it a great stay ! And Kenny too!! Felt like family after a few days . We'll be back ! Can't wait for September !
This was my first venture into desert prospecting, and LDMA Stanton was a great place to do it from. Lot's of friendly, experienced folks to learn from and an historic location. I had a ton of fun.
