Lost Lake Campground Introduce

Nestled in the picturesque town of Sisters, Oregon, Lost Lake Campground offers a tranquil retreat for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike. This rustic campground is perfect for those seeking a peaceful escape amidst the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. With its spacious, well-spaced campsites and clean pit toilets, Lost Lake Campground provides a comfortable yet authentic outdoor experience.

The campground is accessible via dirt roads, which can be bumpy and are better suited for trucks or high-clearance vehicles. However, sedans can also make the journey with careful driving. Visitors should note that there is no running water on-site, so it's essential to bring your own supply. Despite its remote location, the campground's pit toilets are surprisingly clean and odor-free, adding to the overall positive experience.

Lost Lake Campground is particularly appealing for its proximity to natural attractions, such as the nearby lava tube, which is a must-see for geology enthusiasts. However, access to the lava tube may be limited during snowy conditions. While the lake itself may be mostly dried up in the fall, the surrounding scenery remains breathtaking, making it a worthwhile destination for those who appreciate the raw beauty of nature.

  • Spacious and well-spaced campsites for privacy and comfort.
  • Clean and odor-free pit toilets located near each camping area.
  • Proximity to unique natural attractions like the lava tube.
  • Ideal for trucks and high-clearance vehicles, though sedans can also access the site with caution.
  • Perfect for those seeking a rustic and unplugged camping experience.

Customer feedback highlights the campground's serene environment and the cleanliness of its facilities. Many visitors appreciate the spaciousness of the campsites and the absence of unpleasant odors in the pit toilets. While the road to the campground can be challenging, the journey is often described as part of the adventure, adding to the sense of remoteness and tranquility that Lost Lake Campground offers.

Dirt roads, bumpy, better for trucks/high clearance but a sedan could still make it (just go slowly). Spaced out camp sites, single bathroom nearby each camping area. No running water, pit toilets only. The bathroom was pretty clean, it didn't stink at all which was surprising. Came through in October and the lake was mostly dried up, just a big puddle left.

Very abandoned and unmaintained. Sites still exist but the road is quite bad and requires an SUV or truck. Maybe worth visiting for the lava tube up the road but snow can prevent access.
