So this campground is as described, it’s rustic, the camp roads are narrow and hilly, but that’s not the reason for 2 stars. While we were there it was really windy on Saturday morning, a large tree fell near my campsite, super scary. I understand that no one can control the weather, but it was several hours before anyone came to take it down the rest of the way, it was still attached to the trunk of the tree. Later that afternoon, probably around 4 or 5 pm, we see the owner driving a large excavator by our site. There was apparently another large tree that was in danger of falling and he decided to take it down then. Instead of coming over and talking to us, he sent his employee over to ask us to move our trailer! Keeping in mind that we were already cooking dinner and enjoying time by the campfire. Also while this was going on kids are riding bikes and it was almost trick or treat time, and another trailer was backing into the site next to us, closer to the tree! The owner proceeded to ram the tree with the excavator until it fell over, safely away from our site thankfully. Still no communication from the owner. It felt very disrespectful as we chose to spend our money at this campground. Overall this campground is rather run down, and doesn’t have the friendly family campground feel that I was hoping for. Yes it is a beautiful spot, but in my opinion not worth the money they are charging.
Very cute campground and very nice employees BUT look at the camp map before you book your site. We were at 16T and it was literally 10ft from a main road with a fast speed limit. it was such a bummer bc one side of our pop up was a lovely brook but the cars speeding by every 3 min was just horrible:( Scary even. Great location for a campground but can't believe there are even sites in this spot. So just be sure to look at camp map and book far from the main road, otherwise you'll hear cars zooming by nonstop and hoping non fly off the road into your site.
Tent-camped two nights over the weekend. Had a great time. Good location, site was more than adequate for two tents & for cooking, etc. It was great having water on-site. Clean restroom/showers. Would recommend this camp. Hiked to the B18 crash site. Camp map indicates access to the trail at the edge of camp but trail becomes non-existent due to overgrowth. If taking this hike, better to start at the trailhead off Sawyer Hwy. It's a fairly difficult hike but worth it at the end.
Had a great stay! We did 4 night at one of the tent sites along the river and it great. Plenty of room for our car, tent set up, fire pit and picnic areas! Water hose at the site and a bathroom with showers close by! Campgrounds as a whole is a really cool location with tones of slots on the river, and store with anything we needed. Will definitely stay again if camping in that area as it’s close to all activities you’d want to do!
We stayed for 5 nights (Saturday-Thursday) and I'll start by saying the price is fair for the amenities. I read all the past reviews and was weary, but everyone on staff is super friendly and we had zero issues. Not even a hint of any remotely cranky staff members. Camping sites are decently sized and super clean. The staff take pride in their work and it shows. The campground went cricket silent at 10:00 PM, with staff riding around at 10:15-ish. If you are looking to party late into the night, this is not the place. If you have kids that are happy with playing in the water, fishing, bike riding and late bedtimes of 10, it's perfect! Firewood at the store is very fairly priced and burns great! Camping store is fully stocked and markup for convenience is near zero all things considered. Kid's playground is across the street from the campground and a little rundown, but good for what it is. Tennis court is available for use and in good shape. The pond is smaller than it looks in the pictures but is deep enough for use in the warmer weather and stocked with plenty of fish. The only two negatives I saw were the bathroom/shower facilities and laundry. The bathrooms smell awful during the weekend when there were more people and only one shower was working in the main bathroom which lead to some lines. Plus side, no quarters were needed for the shower, water is hot and showers were cleaned multiple times a day. The laundry room has one working washer and one semi-working dryer. There is a notice that it is under renovation though, so hopefully it'll be fixed for next camping season. Finally, I would not recommend purchasing the weather insurance. Even with four of five days raining for well over 4 hours, no coverage/reimbursement was given. They go off forecasted amounts not actual amounts (which were way more then expected). Small wasted amount, but still frustrating.
