The facilities here are truly impressive! The buildings are giant and they seem to host events and entertainment though we were not there while they were putting anything on. Staff is very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The pool house is nice with good hot tubs. There are horses, a giant trampoline thing (red thing in attached picture), and the sheer size of the campground is massive. The hills are very nice, there are lakes and ponds, lots of trails for walking, and I’m sure lots of activities that we did not take advantage of. Some of the buildings could use some updating, but overall this is a very nice campground and I definitely hope to stay again. The cell service is not very strong, which is not surprising at a campground. Pretty close to St Louis, which is a plus.
EVERYTHING needed to be updated. The condos need a dishwasher, small appliances (blender, crackpot, etc). Not sure if things would be different in the summer. Kinda up in the air whether we would return.
Not my favorite campground. We did get an ok spot, but utilities were very close together, really too close andvit made emptying our tank awkward. I'm sure the locals like it here, but we found it too hilly, and having to show ID for everything got tiresome. Actually couldn't wait to leave.
We have come here as a guest for their Halloween weekend for several years now. LVLR has some really great amenities for kids and adults alike such an indoor pool and bounce pillow. Halloween weekend is the best, and it is the wonderful imagination of the campers and not LVLR that make it a ghoulish event. The only thing we participated in that LVLR put on was the haunted hay ride, and that was $9 per person for about a 15-minute ride. Come on LVLR, you make enough money from your members that you could offer that at no cost or at least put up some decorations throughout the resort.
We stayed at LVL for 3 weeks in June, in our 24' RV Motorhome, with no tow. Upon entering the campground, you are welcomed with a VERY BEAUTIFUL view of the river, and the well manicured grounds. After checking in, we were told to follow the road straight ahead. We got to see where the inground pool is, the outside pool, and the store/restaurant, which is only open on weekends due to shortage of staff. We kept going until we left the main road, only to find VERY steep, deep rutted, windy road. To make it even more fun, there is a huge tree standing right there as you have to make a sharp turn. We had to keep going all the way to the top of the road, where there are NO trees to shade the RV. It was an extremely hot June too. BUT we were within walking distance to the bathrooms, showers, laundry room, and a decent air conditioned clubhouse, so life was good. My husband works from the RV, so my only ask always is to just find me a pool. He did so, but I am an older woman, and was unable to walk down the steep, deep rutted road down to the pool. We asked the woman in the office if there was something closer and she said yes. However, she warned us that if we needed cellular or wi-fi reception, there is NONE! So it was the pool or wi-fi fir work. I would have given a 5 star review, but I was unable to enjoy any of the wonderful amenities they offer. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I got to read some books and watch some movies in the clubhouse, where it was nice and cool
