Loup Park Campground
, located near Columbus, is precisely this kind of valuable discovery. Managed by the Loup Power District, this site is renowned throughout Central Nebraska for offeringfree camping
during the summer months. As one delighted customer succinctly put it:"Being a free campground, can't complain too much."

Loup Park/Lake Babcock
recreational area, encompassing 31 acres of land along the north and west shores of the beautiful Lake Babcock. This is a destination defined by its focus on simplicity and nature. While the park is generous with itsno-charge camping
andelectric hookups
, guests are asked to be self-sufficient, as it maintains a strict policy ofno dump stations and no direct water hookups
at the sites. This structure fosters a community of respectful, self-contained RV users and tent campers who prioritize accessibility, natural surroundings, and quiet relaxation. The environment makes it a "wonderful place to land for a night or two," or even for the maximum seven-day stay limit, establishing Loup Park as a beloved component of Nebraska’s public recreation landscape.---

Customer Reviews
Being a free campground, can't complain to much. The bathrooms had no toilet paper and there is a lot of road noise. There are small playgrounds spread throughout the park with a nice trail for activities.
Wonderful place to land for a night or two..
Campground was nice rain helped alot. Looked alot nicer. Park department did a really nice job this year keeping up with mowing. Usually looks like they're bailing hay with huge windrows of cut grass. Towards end of season not much going on out here, nice and quiet, very relaxing
Nice quiet campground for the most part. It does appear to possibly be in the flight path of an airport because lots of planes fly over. Other than that nice and peaceful. Has bathrooms and free electric. Some spots are somewhat level. Max 7 day stay. Would stay here again.
Nice playground! Has a pavilion with picnic tables. Campsites are decent.
