Customer Reviews
The trail head for pony express trail is just past the bathroom. Nice hike, campground had day use parking.
Great campground but a little expensive. $10 for day parking and $28 per night for camping.
Great place to camp and climb. First come, first served.
Lovely campground but hard to get all the info you need before you arrive. We came out for a climbing trip from the UK. - You need cash or cheque on arrival, fill out the envelope, add the money for your stay $28 per site per night. Then post it into the tube. - The sites correspond to the parking spaces, tear off the tab of your payment envelope and clip to the post in your parking space. - Find your camping spot, they all have a fire pit, picnic bench, BBQ and large bear box. They all vary in distance from the car park from 50-200m - Fresh water tap next to the toilets - 2 x long drop toilets which are accessible, were very clean during our stay. - There is a bit of road noise from the highway but not too bad, and the campsite was very quiet while we were there but maybe only at 30% capacity - Night time temps were about 10*C in late September - Grocery store 10 mins walk or 2 min drive, great for daily supply’s if you don’t have full cool box set up and really friendly staff. Climbing: - It is a 10 minute walk to the start of the climbing area. - Daytime temps were mid 20’s with a nice breeze up higher. - Sun comes around after midday and would be challenging to climb if no breeze. - We managed on a 60m rope for the week
Nice little campground. Mostly empty on a Monday in mid-July. Lovers Leap is lovely. Great short hikes. Only problem is some road noise from the highway.
