Great little camp area next to a bend in the Metolius River. Perfect spot to hike up to the Wizard Falls fish hatchery.
Fabulous hike to.a.fish hatchery. Beautiful views of the river and rapids.
Was not our first choice, but ended up loving it. Going back again this year. 😎👍
I used to like canyon Creek campground until it was destroyed by the forest service to quote protect the river. As is typical with the forest service at this time the campground was reduced in the number of sites instead of trying to find a way to increase the number of sites for more public Access. This reduction insights will force people into dispersed areas thereby increasing the risks to the forest from fire.
Campground was $12 even though there was no water or garbage can. There was only a really small vaulted toilet. Not a great spot for kids. The creek and river were both running really fast and they were deep. There was good access to the Metolius River Trail.
